Hornets will wait 3 days to match him. They cleared cap room by dumping Jack today and will try to acquire someone else before matching Gordon. Suns better hope Mayo doesn't sign elsewhere in the meantime because the Hornets will take their time in matching Gordon. They want to acquire another center.
I didn't like the Rivers pick. I think he sucks, but he's gonna be the backup PG to Vasquez this season. I would have preferred Terrence Jones, Jeremy Lamb, or Meyers Leonard.
There's something fishy about this whole thing, and everything that's been said and not said/done today. I'm predicting right now that NO will not match.
Hornets are making other moves before they sign Gordon. If they match Gordon now then they can't sign other guys. They still need a center. That's why they dumped Jack's contract. They're gonna wait and sign Gordon at the end.

Yeah, but I just don't buy that. If he's the future of your franchise, you aggressively make that obvious. You don't say "no comment" and hold off on matching. And even if they do hope to sign someone else first, Gordon still has a cap hold in the meantime.
We'll see who's right within 60 hours.
Hornets won't let him go for free. A sign and trade can't be done now so they have no choice but to match. But if they match him now, they can't sign other players, he's gonna have to wait.
