Blake Griffin Injures Knee, Anthony Davis Summoned to Las Vegas
NBA Stephen Douglas (CRM!) July 12th. 2012, 1:46pm
Blake Griffin has hurt his knee in a Team USA scrimmage according to Yahoo!’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Griffin, who just signed a 5-year, $95 million extension with the Clippers, will return to Los Angeles to see team doctors and get an MRI. Anthony Davis has been asked to join Team USA’s training camp.
Sons, Team USA is CURSED, tbh:
Wade
Cornerstone
CP3
Griffin
Who's next?
The Olympics are just ing worthless. I'd never play in them if I was an NBA star.
Like I said ... they ARE the Clippers.
Hope he is Ok, though you dont want little brother to fail, you are proud of your sibling. you just dont want him to do better than you. Sons on the other hand, you want to surpass you in every way ...
Clip fan calling Olympics cursed ... only Portland has had more fluke injuries to star players than the Clip show. It's just no one has watched them play much until recently and they havent had many true SUPERstars.
Another reason why it should be just 18 to 20 year olds on the squad.
NBA is more important.
the Olympics. You need to perform the best for your team that you are getting millions to play for.
Considering the Lakers have Bynum on their team, Lakerfans probably shouldn't be talking injury smack, tbh, because he's had one healthy year in recent memory...
Why? For a lot of athletes, participating in the Olympics and representing their country is the pinnacle of their athletic careers.
NBA athletes get to have the pleasure of doing so simply by dedicating a few of their summers to the program, and only have to do what they do professionally the rest of the year (and already get paid millions for). NBA players, particularly, are almost guaranteed a gold medal for doing so (2004)
Contrast that to athletes who train their entire lives to have once chance to be in the Olympics, and are typically forgotten to the obscurity of time after they are done, and it seems like a pretty damn good deal for NBA players to me.
Bill Simmons' "Open letter to Blake Griffin" right after the 2009 draft. Details the curse of the Clipper franchise:

This was the first thing that popped up in my mind when I read about this news.
So can they still beat the 92 Dream Team?
