I'd rather play four on five than have Vince Carter on the Suns again.

Mayo should fit in nicely in the Jason Terry role. A nice upgrade for probably less money. He should get plenty of shots attempts considering Kaman and Marion arent volume shooters.
Carter wasn't that bad last year for us, inconsistent towards the end of the season but he is an old guy and the lockout/west going down definitely didn't help. He hit some clutch shots and make 3s for us...as long as he is playing with energy and not chucking he will have a decent year imho

Early reports is a multi year deal. The plus side is the mavs actually HAVE assets now that could be used at the trading deadline for someone like Dwight...

I don't think you pick up young guys like collison, mayo, and wright just to use as trade chips for some overrated primadonna got. I'd much rather hold on to them and try to sign bynum in the offseason. will we still have enough money to do so after this? I really like the new Collison/Mayo backcourt.

I really want Delonte back. Dude was great for Dallas last year and he has really matured off the court. If he re signs, there will be a lot of depth in the backcourt to match the Frontcourt..

Mavs probably could be the third team to facilitate the Dwight trade if they wanted Bynum, tbh

Yea the backcourt is nice although a lil small... Collison is maybe 6'0 and Mayo is like 6'4. How are they as defenders? We dot exactly have the best shot blocking in the world and Marion isn't goin to be able to chase around PGs all season long like last year.

I guess they can't be worse than terry and JJB though...

i'd give up dirk in a heartbeat if we could get bynum. collison/mayo/wright/bynum that's a nice young core. too bad cuban would never do it though.

I think i'm also in the camp that i'd rather have Bynum. Even if he's a little , he's a little with actual big man skills, not just relying on n!ggerball like Dwight.

I know the guy was considered a can't-miss prospect in high school, but he has regressed every year and just had a playoffs that make Bonner look like Reggie Miller. I don't know why everyone likes this deal unless it's only for one year or something.

No they are not, they are not going anywhere next year. They are a good team yes, but this is not the staccckedddddddd le team you had in 011. They recovered well though from not getting Deron and Dwight, good looks to them for getting some pieces.

He also hasn't held his current franchise hostage, and while he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, he isn't an idiot diva like Dwight.

You're right, that blazing 27% he shot in the playoffs should fit right into that hole created after Odom left.

All depends on the contract. Suns were offering 6+ per, but Mayo want closer to 8+.
Mavs had only $4M in cap space, so it cannot be for more than that.

Fact: OJ Mayo took half as much money as he wanted from the Suns to play for the Mavs.
