we're only 0-2 in the World Series.
St Louis Cardinals 10.5 games behind entering September 2011.
SF Giants only 73-60 entering Sept 2010.

per BSPN.....
Weaver joined Sandy Koufax (1963-64) as the only pitchers since 1950 with consecutive seasons of double-digit wins and an ERA under 2.00 before the All-Star break.
Too bad we don't have 5 Jered Weavers lol. I mean, besides Wilson--Santana, Haren, and Richards have been terrible of late. Williams was good out the gate, but he was struggling prior to going on the DL.
trying to laugh at a team who's made it to back to back World Series'
laughing at a team celebrating a division le when they beat you to get it.
thinking CJ Wilson is going to help the Angels in the playoffs...yeah..he had a lot to do with our successes in the playoffs.
laughing at the Rangers when we've been to more World Series' in the last two years than your team has in it's entire history.
Winning one WS is undoubtedly better than losing back-to-back WS. I'd think the consensus would agree with that. There's no guarantee that Wilson won't be an asset to the Angels in the playoffs. He isn't pegged to be the no. 1 that is Jered Weaver's role and so then perhaps C.J. is okay with being the no. 2 or 3 (more like 2 since Haren has been hurt and ineffective). The spotlight is off of him and perhaps that'll be a better situation. You also can't put the honus on Wilson for being the Rangers' failures--that has more culprits than just the lefty' performance. Shotty defense and the bullpens' inability to get one single out or one single strike that wasn't left on the fat for Friese to chew-up. Mistakes that put the blame on more than just one guy.
Both teams are far and away the class of the AL West and outside of the Bronx, they're two of the top 3 teams in the AL and possibly the whole MLB. Both teams do have glaring holes in that they're facing issues (injury and control). Texas' rotation has had one or another starter banged up as have the Angels over the past few months. The Rangers may have a vaunted offensive line-up, but they've been held in check on occasion in the past few weeks as have the Angels. I think, though, the Rangers have an offense that can do fine when a few are slumping. The Angels have caught fire with the emergence of TnT (Trout and Trumbo) and the slow improvement of Pujols and solid play from Torii H. The scary thing is the bottom half of the order has just started to come along and we have yet to see the 2nd half Pujols that could improve. He may not match 37 like last year, but he'll be in the 30s by the time it is wildcard time.
It will be an interesting 2nd half and hopefully it'll be a hotly contested one and it'll be exciting to see how both teams fare. The Angels, Rangers, and Yankees all play each other quite a few times and that would be a great measuring stick for any fans.
LOL Angels are a failure.
Downs looked y warming up in the bullpen.
The walk to Granderson was the undoing imo.
Wow...rangers fan really saying two losses in world series > one world series victory. Pathetic.
It's 90210...he's a huge got homer an you should take his takes with a grain of salt
Weaves 11-1.
'Bout time they gave him some freakin offensive support.
Oh wait, the Yankees still have the bottom of the 9th.
Can the MultiSciocas still choke a win away?![]()
Son..you obviously don't see my posts in the Rangers forum. Homer? I'm always getting pissed at my Rangers for their bull . What's funny is T2Z can talk trash that the Heat are the in other forums and he's a bad ass troll. I do it and I'm a homer. Thanks for getting trolled when I wasn't even trying to troll you, though...I appreciate it.
Skankie is firmly in Downs head.
Thankfully Jepson came in and looked really good in getting the final out.
The New Yankee Stadium is a joke. That RF is a softball dimension and couple that with warm air/humidity the ball just flies. That and Great American Ballpark...Insane. Oh well, at least the Angels managed to salvage one behind Weaver being a little shaky.
yah that RF porch is a HR hitters dream.
This.
Where else can you launch a 330 foot homerun into the third deck?
Not to take away anything, but how does Granderson go from 17 HRs in 6 years with the Tiger to the numbers he is putting up now?
The RF @ New Yankee Stadium must have something to do with it. If I were Prince Fielder, I would've said hey...get me in pinstripes pronto!
Aww shucks, the Angels choke a lead and lose another game.
damn...what up with the bullpen....noone can go in without giving up a run.
Seems the bullpen is reverting back to April--I knew the All-Star break would be detrimental to the momentum the bullpen had built. Now they lack confidence and that's brutal with a struggling front rotation of Haren, Santana, and Williams. Even Wilson and Weaver looked shaky. This is defintely not how the Angels should look. Only Trout and Trumbo have continued to hit lights out. Pujols is steady, but he's not putting up numbers that warrant the tremendous contract he received.
The only consolation is this: They've had a lead in each of the 4 games since the All-Star Break, so it isn't like their offense isn't doing anything. It's the pitching that is failing them at the moment.
Could be worse could be the sucky other SoCal team who lost a series to the moribund Padres with one game having a guy stealing home... ROFL Dodgers
getting no-hit by the Mariners
getting shut-out in a series by the Giants
getting beat by the Padres
Oh well, at least the Angels don't have to face Verlander this series.
