If that's the case then it's even more dumb on the Suns' part. A 2 year, $10-12mil deal with the 2nd year being a player option is still a great pricetag for Mayo. 2 years, $8,000,000 is maybe the best bargain so far this off season.

I guess Mayo might have simply liked Dallas more than Phoenix so he was willing to sign with Dallas for less, but that doesn't align with how Phoenix has basically gotten every free agent they've gone after this off season prior to Mayo (Gordon being the exception who obviously woulda come here if he was unrestricted).
He took less money to go to a contender..Just like a certain 38 year-old Canadian PG did a few days ago.Winning is just as important to some guys it seems.

Son do you honestly believe that Dallas can't compete with OKC?

If everything goes right for them maybe, but I don't see it.

Honestly, I love their Collison and Mayo acquisitions especially at the price they got them at. Brand also was a solid pickup imo, but I've always hated Kaman and think their expectation of him playing an important role will backfire. Dirk will obviously play better than last year but the question is how much better, and also how much does Marion have left in the tank. It's a team with too many question marks and new pieces.

It's the first time since Nash left that we will get fast breaks.I think that alone means a lot.
2nd,Collison could go back to his rookie season when Chris Paul went down. If he can do it with David West then he can do it with Dirk.
Dahntay Jones will also be huge,it will allow Marion to take a breather and not have to guard PG's and SG's for 40 minutes.

Plus,I think our frontcourt s on everyone in the league,so that's a plus. Now give me king Belli and it's

As they are right now, assuming they have a reasonable amount of health, I'd put the Mavs solidly as the 4th best team in the West. Clearly behind OKC, not quite that far behind SA or the Lakers. Definitely ahead of Denver or the Clippers.

I agree. This gets us at least even with Memphis, LAC and Denver, if not better.

Right now I see the West like this:

    Favorite:
    OKC

    Contenders:
    SA, LAL

    Likely Playoff Teams:
    DAL, LAC, DEN, MEM, UTA

    Potential Dark Horse Playoff Team:
    MINN, PHX, PORT

    Crap:
HOU (subject to change if they get D12), GS, SAC, NOLA

The Mavs have recovered nicely all things considered.
    +1

Kaman and Brand are no subs ute for Tyson Chandler, but considering what this team looked like a couple of weeks ago, I'm astonished at how well they've pulled things together.

I don't think they're a le contender, but they should win a lot of games.

It has a lot to do with Phoenix being O & forever and not being a desirable place to say, probably even below minny at this point as me and rogue said crofl crofl having no franchise player.

not even a day after i made that comment may turned down 8 mil to come play in dallas for 4 crofl

it also doesn't hurt to have an owner committed to winning and not fun and gun mediocrity to sell tickets without ever having to go through a rebuilding phase. LMAO perennial 7-10 seed.

The Suns offered 5-6mil without a player option and Mayo wanted 8mil. The Suns didn't offer it.

So Mayo chosing Dallas over Phoenix means Minny > Phoenix

    That's logical.

Yeah you won't hear me try to argue Phoenix is better than Dallas. That wasn't ever in question. Cool strawman though.

    self proclaimed internet victories.

the proof is in the pudding as far as the original argument goes. lump phoenix in with the likes of minny, sacramento, and golden state as far as a FA destination.

Mayo chosing Dallas over Phoenix is somehow the proof in the pudding that Minnesota is a better free agency destination than Phoenix?

    Cool logic bro.

    strawman arguments
    moving the goalposts
arguing against something I never said
