Also, I have trouble moving the screen in the Web browser.

Like if I move straight left or right, I can't continue moving up/down/diagonally, and vice versa. If that makes sense.
I have to stop touching the screen, then swipe up/down

Makes reading stuff like message boards unnecessarily annoying, I can't just move the page any which way with one swipe.
Get the ics browser +. I had the same issues. Someone recommended this here and i'm liking this one more.

That's weird...I've had zero issues since the ICS upgrade. Battery life is about the same with maybe a tiny improvement. I used the ICS browser+ too. It's pretty solid.

I didn't have any real problems with the stock browser tho.

I used to use Dolphin HD. It seemed a bit snappier than Opera.

The samsung implementation of ICS was pretty much (not to say totally) buggy on my SGS2.

So, I rooted it and switched to the Resurrection Remix ICS Pro Rom (Aroma installer with multiple kernel provided such as Siyah and Fluxi, AOKP, no more Touchwiz, what could I ask for more)...

And this one is working perfectly...
RR kills all over S2 roms, been using it for 3-4 months. Stock ICS experience with great mods, and Apex launcher is buttery smooth.

In what way? Like bricking it? It's really hard to brick it, tbh. Like jailbreaking.

I left Apple (iPhone 4) for the HTC One X on AT&T and have had a blast with this phone. I'm not too technical, so the only things that matters to me is the speed in which the browser works and how the text module works and how well I can upload music to it. All 3 important factors are pretty good with this phone. The one thing I do not like is the fact that the battery life is kinda sucky. Other than that, I don't really have no issues with leaving Apple.

Would trying to root my phone be a risky proposition for someone who doesn't really understand what it means to do such a thing? I used to jailbreak and unlock my iPhones, but I always would then return to the normal settings. Is rooting easier than jailbreaking. Maybe I should use the internetz to learn more about this stuff.

Yeah but isn't out risky to root it?
Well, you still can unroot it later if needed.
Lots of people have been doing it without problems...

Though, there still is a really small possibility of breaking the phone, but I've rooted two times already, unrooted it once to try again the standard Samsung rom.

Not quite hard to do if you're a bit tech savvy.

    1. Root using the CF-Root method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1103399
    2. Do a nand backup in recovery mode (start the phone with home button+volume down button+Power button at the same time select backup and restore and do a full backup, you will need to have some space on your sdcard)
    3. download the rom and flash it (follow the instructions on the resurrection remix page)
    4. Restore the data part of the nand backup. Wipe cache & dalvik cache, fix permissions and done.

I have recently switched from the iPhone 4 to the HTC One S

    Super

However the battery life on my One S is not really different from the iPhone 4

I guess it has something to do with the novelty; the first few days you use it a lot to experiment, which drains the battery faster, but after a few days you will use it normally, sparing the battery life

I finally upgraded to ICS on my galaxy s2 and I'm hating it. I miss ginger.

My battery seems to suck balls now, my Swype keyboard messes up sometimes, and videos on my browser don't show up automatically life they used to.

    Annoying.
btw....I've heard that the stock Samsung weather app is a real battery killer. Don't know if it's a mem leak or whatever. Might try using another weather app....I'm running Beautiful Widgets. And yeah, my weather skin is kinda gay.

I have gotten real good at figuring out what is using up my battery life and I usually also disable the wi-fi when I don't necessariy use it. I just discovered 7 little words and so I've been draining my battery by running through the puzzles.

Disabling wifi won't help battery, it is minuscule compared to cell data browsing.

My Droid RAZR updated to ics in the last week of June. No issues so far but took some getting used to. I forgot how to take a screenshot. I don't have a damn thing on my homescreen except the menu stuff at the bottom. I see no point wasting data on widgets when I can do whatever I need in two presses.

As for the screenshot...it's power-volume button at the same time. Not sure really but I thought that factory resets the phone so I leave it be.

I do have to say that this is really surreal to see you posting all this stuff considering that two weeks ago you were the apple version of hater. I keep thinking that you are trolling us, but if you are, you are thouroughly researching your troll job and should be applauded. LOL
