Rebuttle witnesses are usually allowed but there testimony has to be relevant and it cannot be prejudicial, especially in criminal cases. Usually, you can only use crimes from the past if they deal with honesty. For example, if Zimmerman is prosecuted for perjury, his perjury could be used against him if he testifies as it would go to show that he is untrustworthy.
If you read the girl's testimony, it offers very little with respect to what happened the night Martin was shoot and whether or not Zimmerman was standing his ground. You cannot just parade evidence that the defendant is a bad person. The prosecution must present evidence that supports a second degree murder charge. An allegation of rape does not support this and is highly prejudicial. It cannot go to his character as it is completely undo ented.
Her closest comment that would be considered relevant is that the family doesn't like black people unless they act white. Of course, the family is not on trial and she could not cite a single instance that supports Zimmerman was racist. She did say that his Mom does not like Obama. Of course, Obama is white so that defeats that argument.
The better question will be what happens if the prosecution drops the case. Which they very well could if witness 9 is the best evidence they have.
i did not read her testimony. just used it as an example should the defense line up a bunch of character witnesses.

Why are you so ing stupid? If you mean the sentence "Blacks tend not to," then I suggest you do some fact checking as to words and phrase meanings. It's a generalization based on statistics, and not a statement that carries fact for all. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Period. However, my observations of life over these last many decades tell me that in general, blacks are lazier as a class as other races.
What other observations and or fact that show poorly on a class do you want to call racist, bigotry, etc? Does using the statistics that show blacks commit more crime per capita than whites mean one is racist?
