You take all those into consideration for the 2011 season and then do some comparisions and you'll see what I saw. Alex Smith is one of the top half QB's. Prove me wrong.

I didn't say he was one of the top QB's, I said he was in the top 16 because he is. Do your homework.
Also, for all your hype, Smith didn't even crack top 10 among NFL QB's in completion percentage, was a mediocre 19th in passing yards, 17th in yards per attempt, and was sacked the most times of any NFL quarterback.... last year was his best season ever and he was STILL painfully mediocre on his best days.... he is just not a top 16 NFL quarterback, B, get over it.....

Coming off last season and heading into this one Alex Smith is around16th if we look at what it takes to be an NFL QB. Don't care about 2010 and before, that means nothing,
The advanced stats are even harsher on Smith.... team offensive DVOA shows that Alex Smith led a San Francisco offense that was only 18th in efficiency... Mark freaking Sanchez threw for almost as many effective yards as Smith last year... Smith was 13th in DYAR and 14th in DVOA.... again, in his best year to date, Smith led an inefficient offense and was inefficient himself..... considering that the rest of his career has been , there really is no argument for Smith being in the top 16 quarterbacks in this league....
