Argentina not running any of their sets. Must be in it just for the exercise. Nothing to be concerned about here, tbh.
How about that perimeter defense? It looked pretty bad early on.

the good news for ARG is that they're experienced enough to not get dragged down by a big loss... the bad news is that father time might be here for them...

Everyone has been worried about De Colo after his work in France this year so far but what about Ginobili? De Colo is looking better in France than Ginobili is in Argentina.
Sure, and San Emeterio looks better than Durant for US.

How come Argentina hasn't produced a decent prospect in about a decade? Was the Golden Generation a fluke or is it just an explainable dry spell?

What surprised me about Argentina basketball is how they have no youth at all to help the team that won gold in 2004. They don't have a single decent player below 30. On would have think that the amazing success in 2004 would have push kids to play some basketball. Guess it didn't happened and they still only care about soccer.

Argentina isn't a basketball country... that's just the reality... it's no surprise they never ever won a medal at all before 2004 on basketball, which is why at the time was considered huge.

Spain is hitting everything too, though... the other day they could only score 83 against Australia... they already have 61 here... games like this happen...

To be fair, any 2004 inspired players probably won't come around for another few years.

But yeah, Argentina was loaded from 2002-2004 but it's be bone dry since then. They produced a group of great players born from ~1975 to 1982 but not much before or after. Weird.

Sons, don't forget that Argentina doesn't have Africa near by to pad their team with black athletic guys like France and Spain, tbh...

Yep, good point. Argentina dine fine at the latest U17 championship. Maybe it will give something good at the professional level.

Delfino and Prigioni were not in the roster that won the gold in 2004.

Argentina made the semi finals of the last year's U19 World Championship.

They have great coaches and very skilled players, but they lack size.

Delia and Deck are good examples.

ARG came back from a 26 pt deficit on the 06 World's and missed a three to win it. I don't think they're very interested in showing their stuff tonight. Besides, they always lose this classic friendly game to spain before big tournaments.

Spain does have the roster to content for Gold TBH
