Hey Boutons how do you feel about your man Obama and his corporate cronyism with GE? Shut down the compe ion for them didn't he hehe.
don't worry it's okay becuase obama said it.
you're safe.
Obama's in charge of this "surrogate for corporate power," so you pretty much just admitted that he's just as much of a corporatist as your hated "Repugs", B....![]()

He didn't say what you say he said.
You said what Alex Jones said.
Hey chump, i got a question for ya.
Did the state make you great?
I guess you can't read....
you are either stupid or intellectually dishonest.. are you going to keep repeating your stupid talking points and ignore what he actually said?"There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me because they want to give something back," the president said. "If you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own. You didn't get there on your own. I'm always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.
"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen," he said. "The Internet didn't get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet."
No one is ignoring what he actually said -- we are reading what he actually said.
i knew the full context of what he said, and still disagree with it. it's all clever word play, hiding things in plain view like a trojan horse. context considered, what he said was ing scary. we are drifting further and further away from what it means to be an american. this ideaology is all screwed up. he takes a good message, and weaves a little bit of propaganda into it, praising the government. sorry but the state is not my God.
so then you acknowledge that he was referring to roads and bridges when he mentioned that business owners didn't build them... got it
It certainly made it easier for me to drive around and do my job.
I got a question for you, but you never answer them anyway.
they made it easier for you by using your own tax money. so basically, you paid for that.
Yep. The state built some necessary infrastructure through the use of my taxes.
I'm glad we agree.
so basically the state isn't God at all, it needed you to make it happen and should probably only have limited role such as:
maintaining peace and order
maintaining infrastructure
protection from foreign threat
other than that, the state really needs to shrink, fall back and let the people prosper freely.
building infrastructure is actually a great example of the "need" for government. i agree with tax dollars going to build roads.
i disagree with them being used for domestic surveillance and wars that we the people do not want.
the state is not my God.
Yep. They built that with OUR money.
I never said it was.
That was Alex Jones.
So when you hire a contractor to build a home for you and you pay for it does that mean you built the home? Pointing out that the government plays a role in our success isn't something to run away form or vilify: its the obvious truth. Yes, we pay for it through tax dollars but that doesn't mean that government still isn't a facilitating and necessary part of the process.
If you don't agree with that, you're basically arguing for anarchy. Who here is an anarchist? Anyone?
No, but if I rip out and re-tile my bathroom and put in the labor, I don't credit the manufactures of the tile for my bathroom.
...was an out of context gaffe though, just like Romney's "fire people" comment and all the more distraction form either candidate actually talking about anything of substance that matters to the people.
I take issue with a guy who has ties to socialist ideology, coming in and expanding government rapidly under his tenure, and then pimping big gov right in our faces. If that clarifies things for the guys screaming that it was taken out of context. I think we all understood the full context and what was said.
You obviously didn't.
You understood what Alex Jones said though.
I do understand it. He took a good message and weaved a bit of big gov propaganda into it. Coming from a guy who has been rapidly expanding the size of the federal government.
Obama slipped up and told us how he really felt.
Jesus, how do you function being so paranoid?
if you weren't in a public state funded university that wouldn't be as de able.
Conservative mindset is killing this country.
Some of you will wonder why China will overtake our economy this decade when in reality it's because conservatives have brought these two viewpoints mainstream
1) Keeping up with the Joneses is more important than keeping up society
2) Science and intellectual argument is liberal propaganda
That doesn't even make sense.
