... if this is what it takes for this guy to finally get a ring, then so be it.

he probably still isn't winning a ring. okc poses a HUGE problem for them, who is going to stop westbrook? who will nash guard on that team? how effective will nash be on an old slow team and nobody to run with? there are way too many question marks for them. this is not 2006, nash is not the same player anymore.

Nash has always been a defensive liability. I agree about the Westbrook issue. They are going to need a legit stopper, and I don't mean broken down, fatass World-Peace.

the nash signing actually doesn't even make sense for them outside of them not having an answer at pg and there being no one else on the market. nash is not a good fit in LA and only makes them marginally better. don't see them beating okc this go round either, and now they have even potentially dallas or SA they could also lose to.

I think Nash addresses their poor 3 point shooting from role-players, but I also agree that in the big scheme of things, him being an improvement is very debatable.

It all depends on Kobe tbh. He will need to let Nash run the show for the Nash signing to make sense. If Kobe can give up his constant domination of the ball somewhat, this team can contend with the likes of OKC and SA. It's not going to be showtime Suns ball, but if the Lakers can move toward that direction they will be good. The Mavs are also going to make this an interesting year. I see the West being as wild as ever and up for grabs yet again.

if all nash is bringing to the table at this point is spot up 3 point shooting, then they're in a world of trouble because that won't offset his atrocious defense. when nash was one of the best playmakers this league has ever seen, (and he was younger and his defense wasn't quite as bad as it is today) it was easy to overlook. but in a system with nobody to run with, and a chucker who doesn't know how to move without the ball to pass to? nash will be largely ineffective.

Nash has 2-3 good years left imho because his conditioning is excellent. He is one of the smartest players in the league and I think people will be surprised at how much better he can make the Lakers if they let him do his thing. Mike Brown is going to have to do some coaching too.

Nash is old, plays no defense, and will barely touch the ball thanks to Kobrick, tbh.... lateral move at best....

maybe it's just me, but i can't see kobe EVER actually doing what's best for the team. he showed that this year when he chucked for all time points status at an insane usage rate, losing games in the process.

This has been the problem. The chucking is out of control.

Yeah.... Kobrick and Nash will NOT work well together tbh..... Kobrick will not share the glory with Nash, and will scapegoat Nash after losses.....

I don't understand why people keep pointing out Nash's defensive flaws..sure, Nash is a terrible defensive player, but he isn't any worse than Sessions or Blake, tbh..Nash is probably a defensive upgrade over Sessions, tbh..

I agree that Nash's potential will be limited by Mike Brown's lack of a system or coaching ability, but Nash will still provide a significant upgrade..he's a great shooter that will compliment a team that has Kobe and Bynum drawing doubles(if Bynum works on his passing during the off-season)..also, Nash and Gasol will be able to play an effective pick and roll game when Kobe and/or Bynum are resting, particularly Kobe, it will allow him to play less minutes this season..

Sure, OKC is still the favorite, but this Laker team was 2 Kobe choke jobs away from being in the WCF, they aren't far from the Finals, Nash could be the difference..

that's the thing kobe doesn't want to play less minutes, he legitimately thinks he should be on the court at all times and wants to play big minutes so he can chuck and score more points.

I agree that Kobe(and Mike Brown) is a roadblock for the Lakers, but if he does accept his role(which he may not), they're a threat to make the Finals..

the same could have been said the last 2 years. kobe just doesn't get it and the odds of him finally getting it now are slim.

Mike Brown needs to get his potato-head out of his ass, reign a few large egos in, do his best Zen-Master shrink impression and they will be fine.
