Does anyone know what Ginobilis plans are for after this year? Whether he plans to retire or not? I remember when he signed his contract extension he said he would strongly consider it, but has he come out and said he will retire or will still want to play? I know I'm just not ready to see the Argentine Warrior hang em up after this year.

    Google Translate:

    - What is the goal set for London 2012?

    - Arguably we're going again for the gold medal against opponents who may arrive in better shape, not forgetting that other appointments also painted the picture well but ended up in the top, or the le as in the Olympics , 2004. The parties have to play them because anything can happen, with surprises that occur at all times.

    - Does that come are friendly an idea of what you want Argentina?

    - The results of the friendlies do not count, they are in preparation, where teams are polished and try to correct errors. The results begin to have value since 27 this month, when it begins compe ion in the Olympics and is where you leave everything on the court, playing important things.

    - Is the ideal of the month and day of preparation for the Games are having?

    - It is very different relationship with the NBA, as in the U.S. for a while the work is divided into physical and ball. Now we have to insert two aspects to hit the time, otherwise we can not get in the best shape.

    - What percentage are helped by the fact that there is a basis Albiceleste has been playing together a long time?

    - It is important and we must capitalize on that aspect, but must take into account that each one gets plugged into their respective teams and many top matches with other players, very different characteristics. What is certain to be integrated several selections is a factor, but not too much as some people think.

    - In your 35, you're still figure of Argentina and the Spurs, do you think you can get to Rio 2016?

    - I really do not think so. It will be difficult for those games I'll have 39, and at that age is difficult to follow at this level. I see it impossible.

    - Do you mean that is close to your retirement?

    - If all goes well, I will play to 37 years, because I have a contract with San Antonio for two years. I remember when I first started playing professionally thought until 32, because that was the top of the basketball players in the big leagues.

    - And how you spent that limit?

    - The part of sports medicine is helping a lot. Today there are energizing and moisturizing, as the case of Gatorade, which are a great support for sports where physical effort. In these times you see players go up to 40 or more at a good level.

    - What advice would you give to those just starting?

    - Explain that one to start doing well because he is young, but certainly not the same. This is where players who have been respectful of his career are paying and even no injury problems. It's simple, the more nights you have on your shoulders, your sporting life will be shorter. From this we must realize and be informed on time, not when there is nothing to do.

    - Do they help the moisturizers before, during and after compe ion to avoid injury?

    - The science is a support to prevent them. Of course, we must take into account that there are injuries that occur in a random play and that can not be avoided. I remember times I had to be well on the physical side, I ended up injured. In other cases it was not right and I was tired, I had no physical discomfort playing all season. Everything is done to prevent injuries is good, but there are exceptions.

    - What is the last thing used in the NBA in the issue of recovery after physical exertion?

    - After practice we are entering cylinders or chambers, inside which is very cold. That leaves us with a few seconds rather icy wind. This no longer have to enter the cold water with ice.

    - And in the physical preparation, what is new?

    - That now no longer exercises are concentrated in a single muscle, but on the contrary, the efforts fall on various parts of the body. It seems that exercise is not hard, but the next day the whole body hurts.

    - And feel the changes?

    - In the last seven months we have applied this type of training and this time I have had no injury, just a sore hand product of an effort. That leaves you satisfied and happy, for you are sure what you're doing is paying off and you can take advantage to your opponents, do not do that training.

    - What about the athletes in the NBA have some talks to avoid injury and to reinforce the issue of proper nutrition?

    - Once a year, an expert perform that work, then we only have to comply with the directions to perform at a high level, which is the only way to stay in the NBA, where the best in the world.

    - How different has to be the hydration of a professional athlete to that of an amateur?

    - It must be very different, otherwise you are giving many advantages. This issue needs to be taken with due seriousness, it helps.

    - What you have become stronger over the years?

    - In the psychological part. In my case it took 17 years as a professional and 11 before playing every day, with that length of experience the keystrokes are not accelerated much in moments of high tension (playoffs), when any new player can fail for the nerves.

    - And what you feel you've weakened?

    - In the physical part, especially because I do not jump so high and feel the difference when I have faced with opponents who are 15 years younger and are with all the energy to succeed.
HIghlighted above, says he has a 2 year contract. I thought this was his expiring year of his 3 year extension he signed back in 2010.

It says that he thinks he can play til 37 so that's good news but it also says he has a 2 year contact with the spurs left? This thing was written on July 9 of this year so that's weird that Manu would say he has a 2 year contract with the spurs when he only has a 1 year deal left, can anyone help out in this?

I would think though if the Spurs don't win it all this season then Manu probably decides to hang it up and retire especially if the Spurs decide to not re-sign him. With him having done as much as he could in this league and being the compe or that he is what more could he compete for and why wait to retire until he has nothing left. Plus I know Manu would love to start spending more time with his boys and not traveling so much. Also I heard that he had put off the surgery from his broken nose two or three years ago and will finally get it done after he retires .

I think both how ARG does this Olympics and how he feels the next season are going to be important factors in his decision. I don't think he's made that decision yet.

Manu coaching ARG Olympic team would be a dream fit if he could tear himself away from his family long enough.

Did Manu seriously thank added moisture via gatorade for enabling him to play beyond the age of 32, or is that a translation error

The journalist induced the response imo, then Manu confirmed as they were at some Gatorade event. But they later explained other advanced techniques.

He is still excellent in spurts, but the same way Rondo nudged Ray Allen out of Boston's big 3, Kawhi has nudged Manu out of the Spurs' big 3.

Manu is a compe or. Period.

Maybe not a cornerstone, but I'd still take him over most 2 guards in the NBA...

The Spurs didn't need him much prior the WCF, the problem is they would get swept without Manu. With him, it was close. The Spurs need him. The season he didn't play, the Spurs folded quickly.

In 2005 he could play great all the playoffs, in 2008 he could play great one serie before getting tired, in 2012 its just some games.

    All that was google's doing?

They're making google translate better. A few years ago the words always came out like someone who knows a word or two of english took to the computer and typed away.

Yeah Manu is reaching the point where he can't play big minutes anymore without becoming a liability on the court. Bats may finally rejoice as they are rewelcomed into the AT&T center.

Tbh, I think he will stick around until Duncan's gone. Somebody will convince him to stay until the team really splits up. I think rather than everyone leaving one year after another, it'll happen at at once and we'll go into full rebuild via tanking HARD for 2 years. Concindently, that'll also be the last year of Parker's contract, which means he will likely be traded for draft picks and/or prospects. So the tank and rebuild may only take a single year if we get lucky.

He should do us all a favor and retire right now
Yeah because we're all dying to see James Anderson get all those minutes instead, or Neal handling the rock that much.

Or maybe you're just a masochist.

Hopefully de Colo doesn't turn out to be a piece of . Or maybe (unlikely) Denmon will shape up in the next year or two into something special. It would be nice to have some Manu insurance.
