Bane's voice reminded me of a villain from the transformers cartoons.

That part where he saw the Batman emblem on fire and said, "...impossible" was straight up galvatron. It was funny to me but not funny enough to be cheap

Batman put up a fight, but he was just clearly outmatched.

tbh i thought it was more that Bane was letting Batman hit him just to show he couldn't be hurt. He didn't block anything, it's more like he was toying with Batman. He would let him get a few hits in, then knock him down, then see if he would get back up. Each time he would knock him down a little harder till eventually he was cracking his mask and breaking his back. I think letting Batman hit him was just to give him that false hope that Bane loves to dish out. Which makes him even more badass imo.

Bane was taunting Batman about how he got weaker due to winning against organized crime and retiring. Combine Batman getting weaker and Bane's resistance to pain because of the mask, an you have Bane not even flinching from Batman's punches.

Yeah I agree, I just think it wasn't so much Batman putting up a fight as it was Bane simply toying with him.

I'd go with the same five, but in a different order.

1. First Bane/Batman fight
2. Bank robbery
3. Airplane escape
4. Chase/semi flip
5. Rooftop car chase

And for me the rooftop car chase is there primarily because it was the first time we got to see the Tumbler in action. Otherwise, I don't think action setpieces were Batman Begins' strong suit. Take out the surprise badassery of the Tumbler, and that spot probably goes to the big Batpod chase scene in TDKR (my obsession with the Batpod is a tad unhealthy, and I think the sound of the tires spinning around in a turn is second only to lightsabers in the world of awesome sound effects). Or maybe Shanghai, even though that loses a lot of its cool when not on a big screen.

Yeah, hence the "fake" premise. He's a GOAT-quality villian though who translated well on screen. Even a cameo would have been cool.

The car chase in TDK is something I love more and more every time I see it. 30 years from now I think it'll be seen as the gem of the entire trilogy just like the Luke/Vader lightsaber fight for Star Wars.

when that quit music starts at :10 the tensity starts and then goes through the roof when you see the burning firetruck blocking the road. My favorite shot is 1:42 when the door opens and Joker is standing there with the lights flashing by. There's just something so boss about it for lack of a better word

Just got back from seeing it a second time, and I enjoyed it even more, despite it being my favorite Batman movie already.

I came away with an even greater appreciation for Tom Hardy's performance as Bane. It was a little easier for me to notice small things this time, by not seeing the movie in IMAX. I sometimes get headaches from IMAX screens, simply being too big. But I noticed a lot more of his use of eyes and eyebrows, even in subtle ways that made a big difference. The only other thing he had were gestures, which he absolutely nailed IMO. I also loved the way he would grab the neck areas of his vest when he was faced with any sort of potential adversity. And when he put his hand on the shoulder of Daggett, and made his way to grabbing his face... absolutely brilliant.

I'm not going to say that Hardy's performance is superior to Ledger's Joker, but if someone said that, I wouldn't necessarily disagree with them. However, I will flat out say that I think Hardy's performance is more impressive than Ledger's considering he had 20% of his face, and a muzzle, as well as considerably less screen time to work with, yet still came away being equally, if not more menacing and terrifying than the Joker was. And it wasn't entirely because of his brute strength, but his speech was actually quite articulate, and he came across as being just as intelligent and cunning as the Joker was. In fact, basically the only difference between the two, is that Bane is far superior physically to Joker, but they are equally as intelligent and cold-blooded of killers.

Honestly I missed a lot because I constantly had to close my eyes for a few seconds at a time, or look away. We were a little too close to the screen, and I get headaches from stuff like that real easily. I noticed it some, but noticed a lot more of the subtle stuff on a normal screen this time.

I had intended earlier to comment on Hardy's performance as Bane (which, for the record, I think is equal to Ledger's as Joker, but to which I gravitate more since I tend to prefer subtlety), particularly the way he uses his body in the non-fight moments. His eyes, his gestures, all that.

In making this comment, I likely would have mentioned that those little things are what I like about Hardy in general. Particularly in smaller roles, like Eames in Inception, Handsome Bob in Rocknrolla, or Clarkie in Layer Cake, all of which focus considerably less on bombast than his lead roles have thus far.

But then I realized that most of this would likely seem to be fawning motivated by my already notorious lady boner for Tom Hardy, so I ditched the comment.

Which is a needlessly long way of saying "ditto."

Hadn't been in years, wanted to see if it was any different this time around. Plus I knew I would see it more than once.

It's still real impressive to see on IMAX, and I would recommend it to anyone. But I just sometimes struggle with headaches.

We were about 1/2 back. I wish I was 3/4 or farther. My neck was hurting from having to keep my head tilted slightly up, and it doesn't help that I have had neck problems ever since my wreck a few years ago.

It was still incredibly impressive to see on IMAX.
