In 1924 Harold Abrahams was ...The Worlds Fastest Human....he was the Oly 100m champ (Chariots of Fire). When it came time to run the 4x1 the Brits thought they'd get cute and stick their Oly champ on the leadoff leg, they wanted the lead.

Francis Hussey was still at a New York HS when he made the USA Oly team, he would run the leadoff leg on our 4x1 relay.

Yep, you guessed it, young Hussey totally destroyed the Oly Champ giving the USA a two meter advantage, one they would never lose. The USA won in WR time.

Getting back to Abrahams, he never ran the Courtyard at Trinity College in Oxford, that was 400hurdler Lord Burgley. Movies...
