for US Senate? be a tough one to swallow for me, but I'm not particularly fond of Ted Cruz either. whoever wins, we deserve it . . .
Damn. I really think Cruz is gonna beat Dewhurst. I wouldn't have given him a snowballs chance in six months ago. Those negative ads have backfired big time.
I think he killed his chance to run for Governor too. Everyone I know is just disgusted with the negative ads.
The Dewhurst campaign has shown a striking lack of respect for the intelligence of Texas voters. The main messages I've gotten are that I shouldn't vote for Cruz because he went to law school, and I should vote for Dewhurst because Nolan Ryan says so.
The Tea Party is getting the credit for Cruz's success but it goes a lot deeper than that...this is just a mainstream vote of disgust with Dewhurst.
Nolan also backed KBH over Perry in the guv primary. Apparently we're only interested in Nolan's opinion when it comes to baseball.
The Dewhurst campaign is trying to follow the Rick Perry model. They're just not as good at it as Perry's team is.
bad timing, too. I can't think of an election in Texas since the late 70s-early 80s where it was a disadvantage to be the establishment Republican.

Dewhurst's cynical campaign has really put me off. He also looks like a deer in headlights all the time.
