I'm not outraged. I don't think it was racist. Commercial time is a product purchased and placed well in advance of what a network knows (beyond general broadcast content) is going to be broadcast on either side of that time.

It's not actually "continual," I have other pursuits and interests. I really only mention it when it's appropriate to the discussion or when it rears it's ugly head in the news cycle.

Why would you expect black people to protest something you don't view as racist? Admit it, you made the immediate connection in your mind between the primate and black people, and you're surprised nobody else did. Or proud enough to run to the computer and post this thread?

Actually, I watched the program that night and saw the ad. I wasn't aware anyone was offended until I saw the story.
bull , your first post asked why nobody was outraged, then you googled it hoping to find it discussed in the MSM but couldn't. The only thing you could find was the daily mail article which cites two (yep, two) twitter uses that criticized the ad. That must be enough in the daily mail's mind (and your's) to say that NBC is in the center of a race storm. Sounds like they and you and drudge are playing the race card. But, why?
So, NBC felt the need to clarify the event over a Telegraph article that quotes two tweets? Why would they do that?

Perhaps the outcry was much bigger and our legacy media does what it dutifully does when one of their own (whether it be other legacy media outlets or favored politicians) and buried the story.
Is this race baiting? If you expect someone to get mad over something like that, aren't you in a way race baiting? And isn't also racist to only get mad over that commercial if it had been aired after Bob was talking about a black girl? If he had been talking about a white girl, would anyone have given a ?
I never understood the whole "black people are monkeys" bit. It's inaccurate because some white people look like monkeys. David Gregory reminds me of King Louie from the Jungle Book. And what about Bob Costas? He has a King Louie face going too.
tbh, NBC has made a completely ery of commercial placements, spoiling their own upcoming telecast with a promo for their morning show featuring the gold medal winner, 6 minutes before they telecast the race. Whoever was in charge of that aspect of the Olympics needs to be fired, and it has little to do with a chimp commercial.
The NFL and the Olympics are the only times when people watch NBC. What a sad existence for the network.
So you don't see this as racist, yet you are questioning why the NAACP, the Rainbow Coalition, etc don't either.
