I wondered so, I just did a search of all the threads started by you and I. Apparently, the search will only produce the most recent 300 and we both reached that mark.

Of your 300, 41 reached "hot topic" status or 13.7% (13.666% for Obama fans).

Of my 300, 60 reached that status or 20.0% (20.000% for Obama fans).
that's because I don't start partisan, ankle-biter threads like you do. Troll/semi-troll threads almost always end up being "hot topic". After all, the Obama-Antichrist thread was probably the hottest thread this forum has seen.

Heck, I bet boutons has more "hot topic" threads than you and I combined.

My thread starting in the political forum is hardly ever partisan. Unlike you, I don't carry water for a team, so I don't really have to start a new thread for the latest chain email topic.

I'll let that speak for itself while you continue in your role as self appointed arbiter of what is or isn't pointless. Bravo!
That's pretty rich coming from the guy that just arbitrarily decided what's the criteria for what makes a pointless thread or not!

And, I did that in less than half the number of posts you've managed to slap into SpursTalk.com
Which really is the difference between you and me. I'm here all the time, your volume spamming happens mostly during election time.

    You ankle-bite year round?

Who would have thought political discussion would peak around election time?

IIRC, you're pretty much the first and only calling me an ankle-biter here (I might be leaving out WC here, but then again he's a lot like you except for the spam).

I'm very far from being the first and only calling you a partisan waterboy.

Who would have thought my chain email inbox would peak around election time?
    Fixed it.

Outside the increased spamming from you the last few weeks, the thread creation rate in the political forum have been pretty much the same as always.

I'm just letting you know since, well, you're normally not around much outside election time.

Is this thing still going on? I went by at 9PM and it took me like 15 minutes to get my chicken sammich. Hopefully this appreciation thing dies down because their service is terrible right now...even with the "my pleasure" bit.

I'm really digging the whole "let's show mass support of Chick-Fil-A's stance against the -gays" instead of using the platform to get people to support more positive causes like donating to food banks, mentoring/ministering to at risk youth, and rallying for pro-life causes such as the abolition of the death penalty. I'm especially proud, as a cannabalistic Christian that eats the flesh of my Savior and drinks of His blood, that Chick-Fil-A can continue to serve a delicious alternative to the red meat fast-food chains that rally under Rainbow Flags.

And please don't get me wrong, I'm NOT saying it's at all obvious to the whole country that white people/Christians are more concerned with mass organizing to keep a white man/Christian's business going instead of aiding the poor/sick. Cuz that's totally not what I'm saying. At all.

What did they win? Was there a contest or something? Honestly, "kiss ins" or whatever the you want to call it are really sad, immature, and pathetic ways to get attention from people.

I thought s wanted to be able to marry their man or woman and get benefits, handouts, and tax breaks from Uncle Sam, not go to Chick Fil A and kiss and display themselves for everyone to see?

The whole thing is a in' joke. It's even more pathetic that anyone is even talking about this . I know that I am talking about it so I'm guilty of it. Everyone should just look away and ignore this . People care more about Chick Fil A and it's so-called hate war toward s than the poor, the sick, the hungry, and the rest of the less fortunate.

What does that say about humanity that more people currently are spending more time talking about Chick Fil A than helping people that actually need it? We are ed up beings.

I don't think you or ElNono understand the meaning of the term "ankle-biter."

I'm not the one that follows either of you around, hectoring your every post. It's quite the opposite. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever even cared enough about what either of you have said to enter into a thread and comment on any of either your initial posts; but, if I have, it wasn't to personally attack either of you.

Ankle-biter: people who criticize a position but offer no constructive alternative.

That's pretty much all ElNono has done in this thread -- and others. He's up there with ChumpDumper in vying to be my personal troll.

Maybe that's because you don't troll anyone else.

I'm very far from being the first and only calling you a partisan waterboy.
Just because you, or others, can't make a compelling argument that changes my mind on certain issues doesn't make me a "partisan waterboy."

Probably one of the largest one-day protests in history -- or, at least for quite some time -- and, it's not a protest. Got it.

It was a protest, in support of Chick-fil-A, against government bullying. The opposite of a boycott - I think they dubbed it a "buycott."

Exempt people were not "buycotting" against government bullying. I realize that is the spin you would like to put on it, but the reality is, these were largely evangelical Christians " buycotting" in support of traditional marriage and against gay marriage.

That's not why I was "buycotting." And, if you'll just stop and think for a minute, you'll understand why you're mistaken.

Gay activist groups boycott all sorts of businesses and, in fact, had called for a boycott of Chick-fil-A back in June when they got jacked up over a local franchise of Chick-fil-A providing food for an event sponsored by an organization gays have called a hate group.

It wasn't until the Mayors of Chicago and Boston (later joined by a few other government officials) threatened to withhold government services, to keep Chick-fil-A out of their cities, that anyone mentioned organizing the "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" buycott.

You can call it spin but, while many of those that participated may share Dan Cathy's view on same-sex marriage and sexuality (I don't), many more of us are just sick and tired of the bullying tactics of Democrat politicians.

So you actually weathered those lines last Wednesday to "buycott" the federal government's bullying?

I don't think I am mistaken. The protest was called for by the evangelical Mike Huckabee so he could suck up the spotlight for a few minutes, get some press for his Fox program and rabble-rouse the religious right. He did and they showed up in droves.

Obviously we'll never know the intentions of the protesters. You say you were protesting the bullying of Democrat politicians while everyone I know participated because they wanted to show solidarity with Dan Cathy and because Mike Huckabee told them it would be a good idea.

    Yep. For three meals.

I don't think I am mistaken. The protest was called for by the evangelical Mike Huckabee so he could suck up the spotlight for a few minutes, get some press for his Fox program and rabble-rouse the religious right. He did and they showed up in droves.
As I said, even though I don't share Cathy's view on sexuality or same-sex marriage, Mike Huckabee's call for the "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day," made last Monday, was framed as a call to stand up to Mayors Emanuel and Menino and their attempt to violate both Cathy's 1st amendment rights to free speech, free association, and free expression of his religion and, 14th amendment right to equal protection, under the law.

To be sure, Huckabee shares Cathy's view on sexuality and same-sex marriage and, I doubt he would have called for a buycott of a business that, say, shares the views of gay rights activists but, that's not who was being threatened by the government, was it?

Obviously we'll never know the intentions of the protesters. You say you were protesting the bullying of Democrat politicians while everyone I know participated because they wanted to show solidarity with Dan Cathy and because Mike Huckabee told them it would be a good idea.
Well, you know mine and, with the time I spent in line with others, it was the most prevalent reason for why they were there, as well.

And, on another note, it's been mentioned that our time would have been better spent volunteering at a soup kitchen or some other charitable cause, instead of at Chick-fil-A. Well, of everyone I saw at Chick-fil-A that day, that I personally knew (and, it was about 5 or 6 families), we are all actively involved in our church or other civic organizations and charitable groups...it's from those pursuits that we even know each other.

Cathy's 1st amendment rights to free speech

Yoni parroting the totally false talking point that reacting to Cathy's completely free and defended hate speech was a 1st Amendment violation. He's free to speak, and his opposition is free to boycott/hurt/challenge his hate speech.
