Oh, but they'll be back when real basketball starts again to remind us Kirby has to take 40 shots because Pau and Bynum suck, despite shooting 50%+ from the field.
Wasn't Paki the only kobe-fan left? Assuming kool is just a troll account

5 new Kobe threads when he is a TOSB and also a pretty much a non factor on Team USA ... the obsession with this guy is pretty crazy. His prime was over two season ago. Sure he is still a top 10 all-time player and maybe still one in today's game but not deserving of this much attention. It's Lebron's and to a lessor degree Durant's world now.
Kobe isnt a top 10 player of all-time, Killa.

Cobbler is just a bandwagon fan, he probably jumped off the Kobe wagon already. I haven't seen the others besides namlook and lkrfan lately. The latter two aren't blatant kobe suckers like paki was

I'm just saying that hating on Kobe is so much easier, especially because of the situations he gets himself into...
And also because he's a , his stans are annoying, and he plays the most detestable style of basketball ever (the "chuck first, think later" style), tbh....

I never was a huge Jordan fan for mostly the same reasons.... arrogance, and selfishness early on in his career.... but I can respect Jordan because he still dominated, and he actually learned over time to trust his teammates... I have ZERO respect for Kobrick, who's a cheap knockoff version of Jordan except less clutch and less dominant, routinely throwing teammates and coaches under the bus, and generally acting like a child, tbh....

Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Duncan, Moses, Hakeem, Lebron, Oscar.

    And I'm surely forgetting some.

    No, he's not a sure top 10 all-time player.

It's easy, Kobe is such a polarizing figure 'cause he played for the Lakers his entire career, therefore making a lot of fans. Most of these fans overrated him to the point where neutral observers were left with no choice other than start "hating" the guy, which in reality is telling the truth about Kobe's place in the history of basketball.

You are telling me that the most popular player in the World today did well in a poll? Wow, what a revelation.

    If anything I'm surprised he's only 7th.

    That site delivers, tbh...

I don't give a swine's piss on what the Kobe fans say, their attempt in belittling Michael Jordan's legacy to glorify the undeserving treatment that Kobe's receivong, but only from the media and the Kobe fans and the majority of them are from California so I guess it isn't so bad if they support their homeboy. Coming from the streets myself, there's something that I have taken notice of being in the hood, Kobe Bryant has either little or no Street Credibility at all when you talk about basketball. In the streets, when basketball is discussed, it's always guys names like Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Chris Paul, and last but not least, Michael Jordan, but the majority of time when Bryant name is mentioned, it's always "F&*k Kobe" or "F*&k that crybaby azz " (refering to kobe) "Or that is a Jordan wannabe" This is true story. There isonly a habdful of people who do like Kobe. I'm dead serious!

Let me clarify, I never rank those guys I never seen play. So on my list he is in. There are plenty of national media guys that think he is top 10. Colin Cowherd and even Simmons has moved him up his list begrudgingly (dont remeber Bill's exact order). Point is you guys underestimate him but I wont waste my breath here. Bottom line is he is hanging on barely to a top 10 spot (current NBA) so it still doesnt explain why you guys are wasting time on him now.
It made sense to be contrarian and hate on him when he was one of the best. and I would of debated you. Now mostly you will just get a shrug of the shoulders. His shot selection was ALWAYS his biggest flaw more than his arrogance or being a selfish scorer. But as his athleticism declines if he doesnt improve the quality of shots he takes he will be Iversonesque ...

    Kobe's Top 10 for sure.

    Jordan
    Magic
    Kareem
    Bill Russell
    Wilt
    Shaq
    Bird
    Kobe
    Duncan
    Olajuwon

That's my 10. But the thing with Kobe is he's not a lock unlike some of the names there. The immortal 6 will forever be there (MJ, Magic, Bird, Russ, Wilt & Kareem) Duncan has no compe ion. He's the best and only PF in that list, with his resume it will be extremely hard to replace him by any player in this era. Shaq too. I mean sure, Shaq didn't had a glorious longevity but in terms of his impact in the game, Shaq did more than anyone post MJ era. Shaq was a beast, in terms of pure dominance, no one can touch him in that Top 10 list, so yeah he's not going anywhere.

That leaves us with Olajuwon and Kobe. Olajuwon had 2 amazing years and his dream shake was a sight to see but he's not iconic enough. He will be booted in a few more years once Lebron hangs it up. Which leaves us with Durant possibly challenging Kobe for that 10th spot.

See, I think Kobe has the edge anyway because he's A) A Laker, B) Historically dropped a mean 81 points C) He's the most accomplished player of his generation. That being said, Durant is young and he's already erasing every "youngest to reach" scoring record Kobe broke in his younger days. Time will tell. But if Durant starts bringing some championships home and puts OKC in the map, I can see him sneaking past Kobe for that 10th spot.

Come to think of it. Its amazing how the game has evolved. If you tell folks back then that players like Dr J, Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Moses Malone & Isiah Thomas (which were all catalysts and game changes in their own rights) will not be Top 10 players after a decade, I bet you'll be ridiculed and laughed at. That's why I hate comparing eras. Its just a different set of rules and approach to the game.

shaq should be reserved a top10 spot simply for his glass-smashing dunks, let alone his superman stats. duncan probably deserves one too with the great things he's done for his team and the team's successes

if you evaluate these players by their whole careers & their accomplishments then guys like duncan and kobe should be there, while individually they ain't that great. its all up to the scale used imho. duncan is a hardworking fundamental guy who has all the basic skills and awesome teamwork, but no outstanding remark; kobe is a clutch shooter and that's all, neither guy would've been considered an all-time great w/o the superb supporting casts they have tbh

hakeem should be also a lock as well imho, he was second to none at the center position. his all-round skills and symbolic footwork have yet to been seen on another C since he retired tbh

Probably the immortal five .... as good as Bird was, LeBron is going to destroy every stat Bird put up and probably tie him in rings. I think James will go down as the best SF ever.
