Shocking allegation about ‘Fast and Furious’
Posted on 08/09/2012 by Greg Anglin
Zambada-Niebla (MSNBC)
A high-ranking Mexican drug cartel operative in U.S. custody says the failed federal operation known as “Fast and Furious” wasn’t about tracking guns at all, the Blaze reports.
Jesus Vicente Zambada-Niebla, known as the Sinaloa Cartel’s “logistics coordinator.” says it was about supplying them — part of a deal between the U.S. government and Mexico’s powerful Sinaloa Cartel to take down rival cartels.
Zambada-Niebla, who was extradited to the Chicago last year to face federal drug charges, says that under a “divide and conquer” strategy, the U.S. helped finance and arm the Sinaloa Cartel through Operation Fast and Furious in exchange for intelligence on rival cartels.
He adds that the cartel was allowed to traffic massive amounts of drugs across the U.S. border from 2004 to 2009 as long as the intel kept coming.
A soruce in Congress tells the Blaze that some lawmakers are closely watching the case against Zambada-Niebla to see whether any of his claims are substantiated.

If true, this would be over the top. It's one thing to look the other way on the occasional drug shipment, but supplying them with thousands of weapons?
How is this different than anything we do around the globe? We supply arms to groups that support our current agenda. And at some point, those arms may be used to kill Americans.
But a necessary evil I guess.
bin ladin says hi.
kind of how I feel about it... The government has done this type of thing in the past and will continue to do so in the future. For isntatnce I believe the US govt has allowed drugs to be imported into this country at one point or another.. has any died because these drugs were allowed in? Absolutely...
Wow, so Obama really meant it when he said he admired Reagan.
Drug running pussies.
Sincerely,
Taliban
The more I think about it this story makes more sense than anything I have seen written about Fast and Furious to date
hmmmmmmmmBased on the alleged agreement ”the Sinaloa Cartel under the leadership of defendant’s father, Ismael Zambada-Niebla and ‘Chapo’ Guzman, were given carte blanche to continue to smuggle tons of illicit drugs into Chicago and the rest of the United States and were also protected by the United States government from arrest and prosecution in return for providing information against rival cartels which helped Mexican and United States authorities capture or kill thousands of rival cartel members,” states a motion for discovery filed in U.S. District Court by Zambada-Niebla’s attorney in July 2011.
If this is true, an equally valuable quid-pro-quo would be CIA telling US banks to launder drug trafficker $Bs.
I agree.
It happens all the time. Doesn't make it right, and those giving the orders need to be in jail.
The phone call that started it:
"Hey Barry!...Barry Sotero!...hows my homeboy? It's Kareem...Kareem from back in the hood!...We proud of you bro!...you done really stepped up from community organizin..."
"What can I do for you Kareem?"
"Bro...I need some big time help...your gubment boys been slapping my boy Guzmans shipments HARD lately...It's dryer around here than Mic e's snatch! Think your boys can let up on my homey a little if he throws you some bones?"
"Damn bro!..we can't let my Chicago homes be missin their blow!...I'll see what I can do and get back to you...Say...don't forget there is another election coming up homes...If I get it greased for you and Chapo I'm gonna expect a littl sumpinsumpin in the offering plate on Sunday if you get my drift..."
"No problem bro...just handle it"..*click*
LOL...
Can you imagine such commercials on TV or Radio?
The added twist of arming them to the teeth is a nice touch, don't you think?
how many missiles did they get?
Incredibly unfunny, tbh... also, where's the Dubya version? After all, like everything else, Obama was just continuing Dubya's policies here....
Well, the Mexicans recovered one of the Fast and Furious Barrett 50 cal's...It was in El Chapo's stash when they busted him.
Gun Control 2016: Mexican Drug Cartels Are Using Firearms Purchased Legally In The US
Guns purchased legally in the U.S. don’t end up only in the hands of American criminals; they may also be finding their way into the possession of Mexican drug trafficking organizations.
Guns bought mostly in the Southwest United States account for roughly 70 percent of the weapons seized in Mexico from 2009 through 2014, a report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office says.
The report comes as the United States grapples with a national debate over gun control while mass shootings take place on an almost regular basis. President Barack Obama and the Democrats looking to replace him in 2017 have called for comprehensive firearm controls to be passed in Congress, but Republicans have firmly pushed back on the grounds that doing so would violate Second Amendment rights.
The GAO report relied on data analyzed year by year in which the Justice Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms traced weapons confiscated in Mexico back to their origins. Most of the guns were purchased legally at gun shows or gun shops in the U.S. before being brought south. The smugglers have also been complicating the tracing ability for investigators, who said the weapons are often being broken down into parts before being smuggled into Mexico.
Obama has repeatedly addressed the issue of gun control as president, though it was not until last week that he exercised his executive authority to expand background check requirements. Even with that action, and therecent avowal from U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch to ensure that those executive actions last beyond his presidency, many have said that his actions aren’t enough in the long run.
A recent poll shows that the majority of Americans support stricter measures.
