Yeah 10 seconds before that one he had a chance.. keeper gave it to defender and he took it away and did just that.

@ Libri after everything they have done these past few years they keep going.. I doubted this team from the beginning they have done very good.

FIFA Investigating Canadian Women's Post-Match Actions

The Canadian women's soccer team could be in trouble for incidents that allegedly occurred following their 4-3, extra-time loss to the United States in the semi-finals on Monday.
FIFA, the international governing body of soccer, released a statement on Tuesday confirming that an investigation has been launched into the Canadian team's post-match actions.
"Following the Olympic women's semi-final match between Canada and the USA played at Old Trafford on the evening of 6 August, the FIFA disciplinary committee is currently analyzing incidents that occurred after the conclusion of the match.
"Further information will be provided only after the committee are in possession of all the elements of the case."
There is no indication in the statement as to what the incidents are, which players were involved or what punishment could be handed to the Canadian team as a result of the investigation.
At the conclusion of the match, many of the Canadian players, as well as head coach John Herdman, were critical of referee Christina Pederson from Norway for decisions they did not agree with, but specifically a delay of game call against keeper Erin McLeod in the 80th minute.
Pederson awarded the Americans an indirect free kick inside the Canadian penalty area after determining that McLeod had violated the six-second rule in an attempt to waste time. On the ensuing play, she whistled a penalty for handball in the box when the ball struck a Canadian defender in the arm.
American striker Abby Wambach converted the penalty into the game tying goal, forcing the match into extra-time.
Canadian coach John Herdman does not believe his team deserves to be punished for anything that occurred after the match.
"I don't think we're going to that level,” said Herdman. “People should realize the game just ended and they had a camera shoves in their face. In the heat of the moment things are said. We just lost an emotional semi-final game and then they are asked to stand in front of the cameras. Things happen that both players and referees regret. Things happen, that’s football, we're moving on."
Canadian captain Christine Sinclair also does not believe her team should be disciplined for anything that took place after the final whistle.
"I can't see that happening," said Sinclair. "It was an emotional game. That's how I felt at the time. I didn't hold things back."
They really have been tremendous representatives of the country, we’re all extremely proud of their showing. I know they are very disappointed, that’s probably an understatement of how they feel and how many Canadians feel about what transpired. I would encourage them to do the only thing you can do at this time which is put that behind you and focus on the next game.
Earlier in the day FIFA had released an initial statement to the media explaining their position on the referee decisions made during the game.
"Law 5 of the Laws of the Game states that 'the decisions of the referee regarding facts connected with play, including whether or not a goal is scored and the result of the match, are final. The referee may only change a decision on realizing that it is incorrect or, at his discretion,on the advice of an assistant referee or the fourth official, provided thathe/she has not restarted play or terminated the match."
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper also weighed in on Tuesday with his support for the Canadian women's soccer team.
"They really have been tremendous representatives of the country, we’re all extremely proud of their showing," said Harper. "I know they are very disappointed, that’s probably an understatement of how they feel and how many Canadians feel about what transpired. I would encourage them to do the only thing you can do at this time which is put that behind you and focus on the next game."
Canada will play France for the women's soccer bronze medal on Thursday.

Horrible non-call. That was a clear penalty in the box against Brazil.

Korea looked good in the beginning, Brasil got lucky with some of those there.. Korea should have had at least one penalty.

Oh well, looks like Mexico vs Brasil.

fun fact Mexico has never lost vs Brasil in a final. 4 wins and 1 draw. Beat them twice in the gold cup final, once in confederations cup final, and again in the U17 world cup final.

Dey ing stacked though. Hopefully gio's injury isn't too serious.

Oh Mexico is the huge underdog.. it's fun to think about that stat, but.. it is DUE.

If the game is close like 1-1 or something, I could see Mexico surprising Brasil.. but if the goals start pouring in, it's over.

I don't think Gio's injury is that serious, I think Jona tweeted he was fine. I just don't see Gio not playing that final especially against Brasil.
