Pau being a man
Let's face it. Mike Brown is a dumb . Kobe is done. Nash/Jamison/Pau/Howard is better off without 4th string Kobe dragging the line back. And we all know how great the Lakers played while Kobe was the guy in charge of the bench and Pau was the man.
He'll play out the last two years of his contract then Jim hires him to herd Howard around.

He isn't going to retire in a good fashion. He's going to do an Iverson, be asked to come off the bench and get his feelings hurt in the process. Then he will try it a few games, get into a tiff with management and announce his retirement. He will record chase though, as long as his ego allows him to continue playing.
You can tell that's going to be how it goes down. When USA teammates talk about other players they enjoy playing with, they never mention Kobe. He's selfish and Wade had to break his nose to get him to chill the out on the ASG MVP greed. He will on the entire team and franchise and be loathed.
