Bet The Holiness choked on the herbals when he heard that the Lakers got Howard. He like man, I should've toughed it out longer so I could have been gifted a gifted team!@@!@12

I seriously doubt it, tbh. He swore up & down he's done with LA, but Mitch might pull something out of his bag of tricks that he wasn't ready for.

Thinking Phil would have anything to do with Riley, let alone working under him.

It doesn't matter what Phil or Mitch want. Phil isn't welcome with Jerry and Jim Buss anymore.

The Buss's may have an issue, and I'm sure the players would love having Phil as coach, but how does Laker fan feel about Phil nowadays, tbh?..

is Phil still blowing loads in Jeannie? I suppose it could happen, i wouldn't be shocked. Phil now has the requisite number of superstars for him to be capable, so I imagine if Mike Brown is out of his element, they'll give Phil a ring.

The Lakers very well could get off to a slow start, DHoward isn't guaranteed to be ready by the start of the season.

He has a stacked team, that's what he needs to coach, so i could see him coming back.

Probably. But he's old and out of favor with the Busses. Mitch may be a Magnificent Bas , but even he can only do so much.

And they just got Eddie Jordan and the Princeton offense. Why erase that and go back to the Triangle, where Nash will be woefully underused as a spot-up shooter?

Phil was old man Buss and Jeanie's blueprint. The new Lakers are all Jim's. I think he wants to make his mark by winning it his way. Bringing Phil back will link it back to the old days. He'll get a higher profile coach but it won't be Phil.

I mean, if Kobe wasn't such a fan favorite in LA, I'm pretty sure Jim Buss would've pulled the trigger to amnesty him by now and rebuild with Dwight Howard. The moment he got rid of everyone from Phil's coaching staff, including player fave Brian Shaw and even their equipment manager whose been serving for 20 years you can tell he wants a totally new direction.

The Lakers would never amnesty a HOF that spent his entire career with the team.

He's not going to accomplish anything. He's got more rings than most coaches have playoff wins.

    I believe this.

Buss doesn't need Kobe. He needs the money Kobe is going to take.

Kobe makes more money for the Lakers than he takes from them, tbh
