I'll tell you what, he sure played like the MVP when he sent your team fishing in WCF
Yeah, too bad he couldn't duplicate that a round later.

What have I said that is ridiculous about Kobe? Nothing.
That Food Stamps deserved the MVP over CP3, and that Shaq did nothing without Food Stamps, for starters.....

    1. Kobe won the award, was the best player on the planet, played better defense, and his team won more games.

Tbh, at the end of the day, Kobe has 5 championships. He won with Shaq, won back to back without Shaq who was replaced by a skinny european Pau Gasol and now he's about to win another one under Mike Brown.

Nash and Dwight wanted chips so bad they had no choice but to join the same player that tormented them for years.

kobe couldn't even get to the finals with the best front court in the NBA for the past two years and now gets an even better front court.
No one makes the Finals 5 straight times, unless you count the Celtics, Cousy days. Kobe made 3 straight Finals appearances winning two with basically Gasol as their big man, who I might add was really good in both series but nothing to scream about.

Kobe dominated the series against Orlando and his 15 rebounds (more than any other big man in that game) and 12 points in the 4th quarter was the main reason LA won back to back.

Kobrick was handed the award, LeClutch was the best player on the planet, and CP3 averaged 20 points and 10 assists, led the league in steals, and was the first player in 25 years to lead the league in assists while averaging less than 3 turnovers a game...

Defending Kobe's legacy is easy tbh, simply because he did it all in his era. There's simply nothing you can say about him that will diminish his importance and status among the All Time Greats. Yes he's a chucker and I think his ability to score has always been his greatest curse because it gives him reason to disregard his teammates sometimes. But really, 5 championships as the teams best closer is nothing to sneeze at. I'm going to maintain my stand that without Kobe's progression in LA's 2nd and 3rd championship run, Shaq may very well end with just 2 les because no one pushed Shaq like Kobe during the Diesel's prime.

Kobe did most of the dirty work (Portland, Sacramento series) and Shaq simply cleaned up the plates (Indiana, NJ and 76ers)

Lebron was not going to win it. The Cavs were a 47 win team.

CP3 was an ideal choice. But the media hates floppers and CP3 was the worst of his kind. If he played like a man, he would earn the media's respect.

Also, the Lakers (1) have a better record than NOH (2). Sure its one game but for something that was so close, you'll need every help you can get and at the end of the day, Kobe had more help thus winning the MVP.

    Respect~
