The President opened up the White House to the Special Prosecutor who identified the leaker (Richard Armitage) on day one but decided to take off on a witch hunt for reasons that were never explained. Nor was it ever explained why Armitage never faced prosecution for such a heinous crime.
President Bush didn't stand in the way.
