Not really, the one guise is that they're white--and most are considered elite QBs.

    Eli Manning
    Aaron Rodgers
    Drew Brees
    Ben Roethlisberger
    Tom Brady
    Brad Johnson*
    Kurt Warner
    Trent Dilfer*
    John Elway
    Brett Favre
    Troy Aikman
Steve Young (he was more of a pocket-passer at that point in his career)

Those are the last 20 SB winners, all of which are or will be in the HOF except Dilfer and BJ--who had historically great defenses--especially the best-ever Ravens 2000 D.

    Please drop the act.
    Act???

So you see all those guys and Peyton Manning as carbon copies of each other? Drew Brees is how tall? Tom Brady reminds you of Steve Young? I could go on and on....

I don't get all the Cam Newton bashing. Dude has already proven he can throw the ball too. The realism in here is overflowing. Just because he's black doesn't mean he can't throw the ball too.

You bring up an interesting point here. Since Avante basically has the equivalent of a teenage school crush on every black pro athlete, do you suppose it eats away at him that black quarterbacks are pretty much irrelevant?

    Avante, please respond to this.
I don't have a crush on anyone, I just go with reality. The worlds best...

    sprinters
    hurdlers
    running backs
    wide receivers
    defensive backs

...will be black. You disagree? I know...oh yeah well what about Wes Welker....

Doug Williams has won a Superbowl, both Steve McNair and Donovan McNabb have played in them. Warren Moon is in the HOF, the last two Heisman winners...black QB's.

What rookie QB played any better than Cam Newton? If you read any of those football mags the Eagles are flying high in 2012 with Vick.

There just hasn't been that many black QB's in the NFL. Right now we have 4 (starters), which is usually about right. So if we look at from a % perspective black QB's have actually done pretty well.

Warren Moon is number seven in history when it comes to TD passes, he is number five in yards. Both Cunningham and McNabb in the top 35 all time in both those. Steve McNair above Cunningham in yardage.

So if we wanna keep it real...

You need some speedy black runners and receivers and once in awhile a solid black QB.

I see them all as white quarterbacks. Correct me if I'm wrong.

What about scoring a load of touchdowns? Or taking the worst offense from 2010 to one of the best in 2011?

I was talking about size, style, strengths, weaknesses. Which is what matters, color doesn't matter at the QB position.

OP was talking about winning SuperBowls

not racking up fantasy points against defenses that underestimated him

Lol underestimated him?? That might be the worst excuse I've ever heard.

MAYBE the cardinals underestimated him because that was the first game, but you don't think the rest of his opponents watched him on film and said "hey this guy might be pretty ing good."?

pretty ing good. that's it, not great, he won't ever win a SB, he'll just put up good fantasy numbers.

also, look at his stats for the second half of 2011, that's about what you can expect from him going forward.

ok his last 8 games his team went 4-4, he had a 10-8 td:int ratio, added another 387 yards rushing and added another 7 scores on the ground.

That projects to 20 passing touchdowns, 16 interceptions, 774 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns rushing. Pretty much exactly what his numbers were for his ROOKIE season. His yards were down a little, I'll give you that.

Give him a defense that doesn't suck complete ass, and I'm willing to bet you see those wins rise and interceptions go down.

Cam Newton turned the Panthers around from one of the least efficient offenses to one of the most in one year.... that's quite a bit more substantial than just "fluke fantasy numbers" tbh....

Luck is the obvious choice here tbh.

I'm not sure if either will ever ring, but Cam will easily have the better career between him and Robert Griffin III.

That's nice. He still won't win a Super Bowl. Mcnabb got this same praise then he was blowing chunks before the Super Bowl loss against the Patriots.

McNabb was also the biggest choker I've ever seen QB'ing an NFL team, tbh.... dude would have been blowing chunks even if he was slow and white.....

Expect to see a black quarterback hoisting that trophy if not this year but within very short years.
