Is the draft this Sunday?
It seems like people have the consensus he's a top 10 receiver and he's nothing more than a system product. Franchise tagging him was re ed given that he wouldn't be worth half of the franchise receiver salary he's making if it was on any other team. No one would know who Wes Welker is if he never got traded to New England.
My overrated list obviously focuses on slot receivers and Cruz is one of them. The last few years slot receiver usage has gone way up and teams don't know how to defend it. It's largely due to how unfamiliar corners are with covering the slot when they've been covering out wide their entire life and also the NFL's unfamiliarity with something offenses have only started utilizing so much recently.
I attribute the production of Welker, Nelson, and Cruz more to a combination of their quarterbacks, other receivers on their respective teams who open up the middle of the field, the fact slot receiver almost never see safety help, and the general vulnerability defenses have against slot receivers more than I attribute their production to individual ability.
Maybe, but I don't think he's worth the 2nd round pick some people are using on him in fantasy drafts. He's overrated in the sense people act like he's already had a monster year.

Yahoo projects Welker to only have 933 yards receiving this year.
I don't think they paid him to get less than 1k.
I think 100 rec, 1100 yards, and 6 TDs is a lock.

This is for real. Welker is a great fantasy receiver but a not-so-good-receiver at making game-sealing receptions in the superbowl.

So the league I'm in is a keeper league this year. It's a major difference than what we usually do. My team last year was wrought with injuries (Andre Johnson) and shaky QB play (Phillip Rivers) so, I was hesitant to make one of those the keeper (we only get one keeper). By my luck and astute awareness, the league manager disbanded one of the teams and lo and behold Ray Rice had became a 'free agent' so I dropped a player off my bench and swooped him up and made him my keeper. It's funny because I'm getting a ton of hate from the other league members for this move. I personally think it is haterism since they were too slow to react. I hope to have a great draft position and go from there!
When is the draft again? And is it set to auto or manual?
