I've seen many people try the e-cig,the nicotine gums or the patches, but in the end, nothing works if you're not strong enough.

Actually, the only guy I know that managed to quit smoking (more than a year without one) simply said one day "I quit smoking,I am too young and it's bad for me".He hasn't touched a cigarette since. It's all in your mind imo.

Going cold turkey requires a huge amount of self commitment and will.

I dont think its possible to go at it that way if you had been smoking for years.

I smoked for 10+ years, and one day just decided to stop (for various reasons). Compared with friends who have tried different stuff (patches, gum, e-cig...) it took them much longer, they looked just as unhappy (but for a longer period) and quite a few started smoking again after a while.

The bad period is tough, but relatively short, so hang in there. If you manage to stop cold turkey it will also give you the will power to not start again (at least that's what I keep telling myself and I haven't smoked in more than 23 years).

chew gum and tally up how much you spend a year in cigs....use that money after a year to go on a vacation or buy something nice.

livestrong has a quitcoach app if youre into those sorts of things. i didnt use it because ive never had a smart phone.

Its much easier to wean yourself off the e-cig than with a real one.

Took me a few months, but eventually I stopped using the e-cig. I would just forget about it for a couple of days.

    Then a week.

    Then two.

Pain is motivation. After a night of heavy drinking and smoking, I woke up with a huge lung ache. Made me quit.

If you have to quit you have to do it without dependence on nicotine. That's the point of trying to quit

I think cold turkey is the best way...Can't really understand how hard it is since I was never a smoker (smoked a few times of course) but that's the only way I ever saw working.

I've tried all sorts of stuff to quit smoking. Gums, patches, pills, magnets... pretty much everything. Using the E-Cigarette has been the only thing that has worked for me. I haven't had a real cigarette for almost a year now. They also have some cartomizers and oils that limit the nicotine levels. I started at 24mg, and am now down to 11mg. Next step is 8mg and then 0. Just stick with it man.

Oh, what brand of E-Cig you use?

anyway, I've got V2 and Regal e-cigs. Seems like it's working pretty well, I only hit em' when I'm having a bad craving or after meals.

Lol wrong on 3 accounts. Enjoy your cancer and early death since you're too weak to kick a habit
