    That's a no brainer.

    The disco era.

    I have this album:

The album is of local Portland bands from the 1980 KGON album. KGON now plays classic rock from the 60'd to 80's. Luckiliy this is the only cut that made it from the group No Exit. Still, since I hate disco... I find the song a bit humorous.

Btw, Bob Dylan is impossible to listen to for more than 2 songs--just brutal. I've grown to hate Robert Plant's voice too--probably b/c of overplay on the radio.

Mid 70's would come in second. 1995-present would come in first.

    Actually late 60's-early 70's wasn't too bad.

Faith No More started in the 80s so I left that out purposefully and just put down Patton to cover his participation in all of his projects during the frame I gave myself... I mentioned Lovage and Handsome Boy Modeling School as more of an indicator to Dan the Automator's genius... why don't you point out how I left Tomahawk and Peeping Tom out as well? I could've mentioned Buckethead and Primus too. Amon Tobin I left out for some reason.

I did mention Fugazi. Deerhunter I haven't given an honest listen to yet but from what I do know, I should've listed them and Wilco. Alice in Chains is an embarrassing one to leave out... Ween too. Porcupine Tree and The National... perhaps... haven't heard either in awhile. Kyuss and all that fu manchu stoner rock I never explored much either. Dessert Sessions had some good though.

The list was getting long. Keep giving me more bands... the more music I have to explore, the better. 80s and 90s aren't my strong points.

Yeah - I'm not someone who generally places music from the 60's and 70's on a pedestal above everything else, but only a handful of the groups/artists he mentioned belong in the conversation with half of the groups/artists on Avante's list. The rest is just garbage.

How can one possibly say 'I'll beat your list with...' and start off with Grizzly Bear and Bjork?
