I don't have the time to watch that much TV anymore; basically the only thing that is keeping me from cancelling cable is watching sports in HD, especially soccer, on my nice 40 ' LCD screen ; it beats watching a stream (but there there are some real HD soccer streaming websites around, so....)


Anyway, what about you guys ?

Not yet but i'm close. Cable is such a rip off no matter how many channels you have or don't have.

No way I feel like downloading all the shows my wife wants to see. Plus, she loves being able to watch all her recorded shows in whatever room she's in.

So, I'll be sticking to DirectTV.

Oh, and you can't beat sports on a nice big HDTV.

I cancelled my cable a few years ago. The Spurs are the only thing I missed. I have a buddy who works for directv and gets 2 boxes free, but needs only 1 so he installed it at my house. So I guess I have cable again, but don't pay for it. If he quit, I would have no cable again.

you can do this with shows downloaded to a network drive (NAS) and have a wdtv attached to each of your tvs. This is not an issue.

I got rid of cable and only stayed with the net package. I thought I would survive with the Net+Netflix+download all of what I want on the Internet but I missed having the TV on some random channel while surfing the net.

So a few months later I got cable back.

All I know is that all the NBA channels are open to me during the whole season.

Ever since I changed to an HD cable box 2 years ago those channels have been there.

Must be some kind of loophole. I dont bother calling them about it because I may lose them. lol

The Spurs are the only reason I keep our cable... otherwise, I'd jump because I can find everything else I'd want through other means, paid or not - just not Spurs games aside from crappy feeds.
