Briles plays the small town kids like a fiddle. Everything that worries them about playing in a big city, I bet they're hearing from the Baylor staff. I hate negative recruiting, but it's part of the game. It's on the Texas staff to correct falsehoods.

WR Devon Allen of Phoenix, AZ has set up his second official visit; Notre Dame on September 22nd. He'll see Arkansas on September 15th. Nothing has been finalized with Texas as of today, but he's wanting to see UT play either West Virginia (October 6th) or Baylor (October 20th).
Great stuff TFloss...to add to the excitement I got my tickets today. I didn't know much about them when I bought them, only that I was assured they were good seats. 36 rows up from the field on the 50? Works for me.![]()

Also former WR Trey Franks is now wearing No. 24 and working in the secondary.

WR Jordan Shipley just finished his first practice as a Buccaneer. He says he has no lingering issues from his 2011 knee injury.

You're going to have a blast. I plan to be on campus with my brother-in-law around 7 a.m. to get our tailgate put together. Notre Dame/Navy starts at 8 a.m. since they'll be playing in Ireland. I don't know if I mentioned this before but both WR Jake Oliver and CB Cole Luke will be playing games in Ireland. That is a badass trip for a high school team to make.
Just a heads up that August 29th is the deadline for any Texas player that wants to transfer without losing a year of eligibility. For example, QB Garrett Gilbert should technically be a senior this year at SMU because he played in two games last season, but he was given his junior year back by the NCAA because of the shoulder surgery he had once he lost the starting job.
The roster looks pretty steady going into 2012, but the guys below stand out as attrition candidates even if nothing happens this season. I do think Hills will finish out his career:
RB Jeremy Hills (SR)
WR Bryant Jackson (SO)
OL Garrett Greenlea (FR)
DT Kyle Kriegel (JR)
LB Aaron Benson (SO)
K Will Russ (SO)

I can't wait until kickoff! We have Wisconsin coming to Corvallis in week 2. Probably the biggest non-conference game we've ever had at home!
Not a surprise to the majority of the fanbase, but QB David Ash is reportedly going to be named the starter for Wyoming by Monday.
I don't think I've ever been more excited for college football to start because of all the changes that have taken place with conference realignment. For some odd reason, I have vivid memories of that time Oregon State knocked off USC in Corvallis back in 2006. I remember where I was in Austin.
That's an amazing trip...something those guys will never forget.
We'll probably get down there late morning. I'm not sure where we will be but I have a buddy of mine that works with me who will be a bit a "tour guide" for me and my other buddy who is coming with me. He goes to several games a year and knows a lot of people there and the area well. I'm sure we'll just wander around a bit until he catches up with us to help us get the lay of the land.
On an unrelated note, I got to meet Dalton today. His dad brought him by the hospital to talk to his mom and she told me I could come out say hi if I wanted to. That is one big ass teenager. Really hard to believe the kid is a freshman. Not sure if I've mentioned it before, but there is a bit of a connection with his family and mine. I went to high school with his uncle and Dalton has been knocking heads with my nephew Josiah Johnson for the past couple of seasons, who is a senior and will be the starting QB for Lindale this year.

S Marcell Harris has set up an official visit to Florida for the LSU game on October 6th. Just a reminder that he will be in Austin next weekend for Wyoming.
Didn't knew that Texas had an official YouTube channel? There is alot of great stuff on, mostly videos from TexasSports, but I couldn't find these on MBTF.

QB Tyrone Swoopes was in town on Sunday night for the second scrimmage, according to OrangeBloods. He was able to spend a good amount of time with Bryan Harsin and sit it in on position meetings.
