How long did it take you to drop to 215?
When I changed my eating habits a few weeks ago, I weighed in at 240 lbs. Since then, cutting out beer and soda and taking in less carbs and no fried foods, I dropped down to 215 pretty fast. All of this while the only cardio I did was walking/slight jogging and playing lots of basketball. I feel more energetic now, but still would like to drop another 10 in a month or so. After that, I am thinking of P-90X or something similar.
I'm at 215 now, but would like to stay in the 205-210 range after toning up, maybe even 215.
Any of you fellas try any of those programs out there or just did things the old fashion way?

About 6 weeks. I think alot of it was water weight as I dropped about 8 pounds in 3 days. then it was gradual from there. I slipped up a couple of times, when I went to San Antonio and drank a Big Red or 3.![]()
Nothing special for me. Just rearranged my diet, pretty much cut out fast food completely. Drink tons of water (no sodas, juices...an occasional beer. There's some things I won't compromise on). Hit the gym about 5-6 times per week, but don't overdo it while I'm there.
The only "special" things I take are my pre-workout drinks, protein shake post-workout, some amino acid supplements, and a daily multi-vitamin. I wasn't necessarily THAT overweight before I started, but I was rather chinny. It all came to a head when, over the Christmas break, my Uncle told me "You're not fat. You're just short for your weight."
.
Kinda like my own wife telling me, "It doesn't look THAT BAD on you, because you're tall". She was referring to the extra weight I picked up being married to her for 13 years.![]()
Key word...routine. Your body wants a routine. You need a system and stick to it.
Any before and after pics?
Make sure you use a torrent to get the P90X DVDs

actually that's about as wrong as it gets.
you want an initial routine and then change it up to keep your body balanced.
he says he weighs 280 lbs
Sorry but you're wrong.
I'm talking about sleeping/eating/workout schedule. Certain times you do things. Yes the actual workout routine should vary but not when it's done. You get into a rhythm. Your body will adapt.
I was 255 when I graduated.
Why do you need a P90 to cut through fat? A less powerful weapon will do it just fine.

Agreed.
With routine comes boredom and with boredom comes a reason to quit.
i bet you look like a legit mamasota after a couple months engaged to a workout regimen
Don't workout do you?
