Per Inside Texas, 2014 S Jamal Adams will be in attendance for the West Virginia game.
According to Mack at his press conference this afternoon, RB Daje Johnson has been suspended for the Wyoming game for violating team rules.
OL Caleb Benenoch has received his fourth star in the latest Rivals rankings.
Daje suspension & Fera injury "only" negative news during presser...it appears to be 1 game suspension for Daje

Final install situational scrimmage tomorrow night. Will be an entire walk through for game day. From meal, warm ups, entry into stadium, etc.
LHN not involved tomorrow or Friday. Guys off on Sunday. Game week press conference on Monday. Practice Tues, Wed, Thurs.
Preseason injuries have been less this year than past seasons due to conditioning. Credit to Maddog Madden and Coach Wylie. Freshman are more ready to play now than ever. Injury rumors are hard to manage due to social media.
Injuries:
Anthony Fera – groin pull
Jaxon Shipley – slight pull (doesn’t say what)
Mike Davis – a “little” tweak of his ankle; no update on scheduled amputation. Just because a young man wears a boot doesn’t mean it is a serious injury.
Depth chart is announced to players today in team and player meetings. Earlier than prior years.
We’re going to play the guys who will help us win the game.

Quarterback position has come a long way. Case has come a long way and is one of the team’s best leaders. But Ash will start.
Mack said that guys will be played according to a plan. One of the worst things that happened to him while playing at Vandy is the coach forgot to put him in during a predetermined series.
I am suprised to not see MJ listed on TE depth chart...motivational ploy?

My first thought when I didn't see his name on the depth chart. Either that or the dude simply still sucks at blocking. Hopefully he hangs in there because he's so young and is still figuring it out.
The other big thing is there's no "or" listed next to the QBs. Hopefully this means Ash will be the sole guy unless it's a blowout or he completely bombs. I'd like to see the position treated as it was in the Holiday Bowl moving forward.

Others have already mentioned they don't mind seeing stuff like this in the thread, since we pursue some of the same recruits (and it's interesting to see who goes where regardless -it's not like the Spurs board has a lot going on right now anyway).

Collins won't be a 5 star...good player, but some better Texas DB recruits for Mack to go after in 2014.
Collins is a definite take and is almost guaranteed to make top 250 players for all the services and is a lock for 4 star player. Huge get.
That said Texas DB top targets in state for 2014 are Tony Brown and Nick Watkins, then probably Nick Harvey and Jamal Adams. Also going after Ed Paris at S although he is probably ending up at LSU. I also believe you may have another 1-2 out of state targets.
It is a sick DB class for 2014.
It is no secret that Collins has disdain for Texas because they showed no love to him his sop re year. I think had that not been the case they would have recruited him and likely offered him at some point. But they realized battle was already lost because Sumlin has been on him hard. I think most years we would recruit a player like Collins hard but there is major compe ion for being top DB in state.

That's a real shame about Daje Johnson. One of the freshman I'm most excited about.
Exactly right I have no problem with it if it is a recruiting battle between both schools, but it wasn't. I'm also pretty sure there is an sec thread on this board now.
This kind of pisses me off. It was necessary, but I was really looking forward to seeing Daje play after reading the practice reports.
Anyone know what he did yet, doesn't sound good.
Rumor is that he missed curfew at some point this fall.
Thats a huge get, Cedric Collins is the man and one of the top guys in the state. Congrats, I do think that this is newsworthy, we might've not offered him but he was definitely a guy everyone who follows recruiting in the state of Texas had an eye on. Since Texas wasn't going to get him I'm glad Aggies did, not OU, not Baylor, not TCU or any other in the Big XII is somewhat of a win for Texas.
I don't know why Texas fans are so negative when Aggies get a good recruit, take away as many high profile players that we aren't going to get.
Regarding Daje, word is the coaching staff was not happy with his dismissive at ude at times, being inattentive, and giving lip to coaches. Message to Daje and team is it won't be tolerated and time for at ude adjustment or ride the pine.
Crazy to follow all the recent 5* RBs from Texas in recent years that all transferred back to Texas (Aaron Green, Lache Seastruck and Brandon Williams).
Most recent news is Brandon Williams (who transferred from OU to A&M) will have to sit out this year as expected. He pe ioned for a waiver to be able to play this year at A&M although that seemed a longshot so no real surprise.
Am really curious how these guys do when they get back on the field considering the twists and turns for all of them.
