you need your mom for certain things and your dad for others. it's crucial for a child to be with his mom most of the time for emotional and developmental support. I work in the field of education here in San Antonio and I notice a lot of behavioral problems with kids who only live with one parent(cause the dad/mom is in jail/dead/left,etc). The truth is children need their moms and dads to be there for them. To protect and to love them. (It's like being thrown into a fight without no training). Not two dudes, two chicks, or your old grandmother(seems like the mexican and black thing to do, is to dump all of your unwanted kids to your wela. which is not fair). society needs to man the up when it comes raising kids!
