Avante you make it really hard to like you because you think your existence on this forum is basically competing in "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire - NFL Edition" in which you are the only contestant. And as we saw yesterday as much as you talk about how good at gambling you are, clearly your stone cold locks need to be locked up in a stone cold prison cell and never revealed to anyone.
I made six picks, won three of them. When do the Saints lose at home to a rookie QB? When was the last time Matthew Stafford three three INT's in a game? My only stupid play for the Bills plus the points.
Let's see how I do, ok? Trust me one week means nothing, once we start seeing how these teams are in 2012 it gets a lot easier. Week one we know nothing about that years team, you disagree?
Where do you get this idea that just because you/others don't know anything about the history of things I have to pretend I don't? Who can't talk todays NFL, why not have someone around who can go a little deeper than that? You act like you are afraid to widen those horizons, why?
I'll tell you right now you definitely know more about the NFL than I do. A lot of that has to do with the fact that you're older than me. I'm not afraid of learning a thing or two, but that's just me. Most of the other guys who post here don't give a about anything you have to say about why you want to talk about the glory days of the NFL, they just want you to shut the up. Your SpursTalk persona has morphed from some dude who starts a lot of threads into the online equivalent of Biff from Back to the Future II. You used the sports almanac to profit from time travel, exactly what Doc Brown specifically warned against. Now you've got this giant y mansion, you're boning Mrs. McFly and pretty much everyone hates you.
I don't have a problem with you. The only person on SpursTalk I ever had a problem with killed himself had his and his friend's narcotics addictions viciously outed in the form of watermarked PM photos. You'd know if this was coming from a place of cruelty or hatred, trust me. It's just that I've been to war with everyone who posts in this great NFL forum and I can tell you with absolute certainty that SpursTalk has a really good way of finding out that you have calf tats, that you're really into Naruto, or that you asked Kori to delete a thread that made you look bad. Don't become the next koriwhat. I'm trying to help you man.

It's not to me, you just come off as that hot girl who likes to talk about herself all the time and only has ugly friends so as to boost her already low self-esteem. I'm probably able to say this to you in the nicest possible way with analogies that actually make sense, that's why I keep doing it. Everyone else is just going to tell you to yourself and make better picks so you don't gotta get meals on wheels and what not. The point isn't to make you hold back the knowledge you have and fit in with the 20-something kids, it's that everyone who posts here is a 20-something kid or maybe a little bit older and they have absolutely no frame of reference for the yesteryear NFL you talk about all the time. It's like you're trying to talk hot chicks with Elton John. And he did write songs about loving a woman so it's not like he doesn't know what you're talking about. It's just that he's gay, so he doesn't give a . Ya feel me?
I don't want to be/act 20 whatever, been there done that. If those who don't know about the history of the NFL aren't curious about it then I have to question just how serious a fan they are. I want to know all I can and do. I want to know the roots/origins, all about team leaders, who was the only 1000 yard rusher in pro football history who never attented college? The first great wide receiver from a HBCU school? I dig like that. We all can talk 2012. I need more than that.
I realize it's not cool to know too much on these boards, oh well.
Everyone's a little different in their fanhood, Avante. I don't think you're less of a person for knowing as much as you do about football. I can respect that you have a thirst for football knowledge and have made it a point to know as much as you can about something you love. No one's faulting you for that. And I'm sort of the same way, the NFL does have a great history and there have been many moments that won't happen again, players who we'll never see play the game the same way again, etc. I'm only 25 so I missed a lot of football by the virtue of not being alive when most of it happened, so a lot of the football I've watched in my life has been after 1992 when I moved to San Antonio and got really into all sports (well at least NFL, NBA and MLB). But learning old school facts about sports is up to the fan. It's done on a more personal level. And SpursTalk tends to lynch you for overexposure. , I basically led the charge to get the UTSA nerds segregated out of the College Forum here. I can tell you for a fact that you're not as bad off as those guys were, what with their penchants for trying to date single mother strippers and licking women's assholes. It's just the mul ude of threads that people are getting on your case about.
By all means, don't let me dictate to you how to post on SpursTalk. The best advice I can give you is what everyone else says and just do your own thing. But this place can and will turn on you. I'm just trying to throw you a bone because I think you mean well, and the NFL forum can definitely go for some more quality posters. It's really the best forum on the entire board, but because Hitler went after the Jews and not GNSF, it doesn't get as much attention. I'd be down to learn some things about the NFL from you, because you could probably throw some info my way that I haven't heard about. But most of us are in our 20s here... keep that in mind when you wax nostalgic. I'm not saying to NOT post about stuff that happened in football before we were alive, but try to tie it into the modern NFL, or in a way that you think the person you're talking to would be able to identify with. You do have good takes some of the time and like I said I think you have something to contribute to the NFL forum. But right now it's like it's you vs everyone else and I'm just trying to help you out with ways to get everyone off your back. I'm not saying to consolidate all your stuff into one thread or one section like we did to the UTSA guys, but retool your approach some. I like to get people to laugh so sometimes I'm gonna get a little hateful on you but that's just troll mode. Don't take it personal. And yeah, it's only Week 1 so of course those games were gonna be harder to predict than the others, but if you're wrong on SpursTalk, especially after you go hard with saying you're right, you get lynched. Pretty much SOP around here.

When I deal with others who know their I respect what they have to say, we have so many here who don't know , all they want to do is bug and pester. When I come across posters like that I don't care what they want or need, um. The only reason they visit these boards is to argue and criticize, as we see none of them do anything but that so the with them. I do what I want.

Gotta start letting things people say to you on here go man. You're gonna be wrong with predictions sometimes. SpursTalk doesn't care about how right you are. People here just want you to be wrong so they can troll you. Not you specifically, anyone. Any person in the history of SpursTalk that was overconfident about a prediction they got wrong didn't stop hearing about it, sometimes even for years. Some people on here dislike you and are going to follow you around, quote your posts and talk to you forever just because they don't like you. Don't respond to them and just talk to the people who want to talk to you. If responding to all of your critics, even the ones who are only saying what they say to get a response from you, is your M.O. and that's how you want to do it then keep being yourself. I'm not saying to be like me. I don't gamble on the NFL and certainly don't know as much about the NFL as you do but I'm down to discuss things your way and try to learn some stuff. I like trolling too so from time to time I'll probably talk to you as well but that's just how the NFL forum is. I just feel like you're wasting a lot of time personally responding to everyone who's labeled you a joke for your busted lock last week. Thats all. If you don't care then carry on and don't mind me.
