Sumlin is an upgrade! You'll see!
New conference, new coaches, new hopes.
Same agonizing pattern, same frustrating result.
Over the last 11 games that A&M has held a third-quarter lead, the Aggies have dropped the ball in six of them. At least this time they kept the margin to a field goal — four of the six have been by double digits.
“I’m tired of losing games,” senior linebacker Sean Porter said. “Tired of talking about what should have happened. Whatever it is, we need to figure out how to win games.”
To be fair to new coach Kevin Sumlin, it was a first for him. But he admitted the second-half meltdown syndrome A&M has been suffering from hasn’t escaped him.
“That’s something that we’ve been addressing,” Sumlin said. “It’s the elephant in the room. Walking in this spring, you could feel it.
“It’s something that based on this game today, which is the only game I’ve coached here, I didn’t feel that.”
That may be. It’s quite possible the Gators simply caught up to the Aggies in the second half and won the race on their own merit.
But when Sumlin addressed A&M’s difficulties Saturday, it sounded so eerily akin to how the Aggies let games get away from them last season.
“We just couldn’t close or make plays in the fourth quarter,” Sumlin said.

Last weekends game was nothing like 2011's losses. We didn't lose because of bonehead mistakes, multiple turnovers or being poorly conditioned like we did in all of those blown leads in 2011. We just couldn't move the ball on a very good defense. It being our first game and having a freshman QB made it hard for us to get yards when we needed to.
In 2011 we would get up to sizeable leads and then take the gas off the pedal, get tired due to poor conditioning, throw picks, lose fumbles and make all sorts of dumb mistakes that made us lose games that we should have won.
Entirely different feeling whatsoever after this game.
“I’m tired of losing games,” senior linebacker Sean Porter said. “Tired of talking about what should have happened. Whatever it is, we need to figure out how to win games.”
Note to all recruits, if you believe you will feel as Mr Porter feels, don't attend Agville, this will be a recurring theme for the foreseeable future.
the way we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is way different this year. You'll see!!

ob·ses·sion
An idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person's mind.
A.guy walks into a bar and walks up to the bartender and says, "Would you like to hear an Aggie joke?" The bartender, who was a big guy says "Now before you tell that joke take a look at that diploma, I went to Texas A&M, and you see that guy working the door, an equally large man, he went to A&M, and that guy over there playing pool well he's an Aggie too, so now are you sure you want to tell that joke?" So the guy says "Well not anymore, I would have to explain it 3 times"
"You're officially OBSESSED if you mention Aggie once! Just ignore our obsession with TU, T-Sips, and the Longhorn Network!"
Alum of a school whose fight song mentions TU more than their own school lecturing us on "obsession"
It was a devastating loss and clearly a predictor as to how the entire Sumlin era will unfold. We may not win another game we lead at the half ever.
overreact much?
Freshman QB. First game in an entirely different system against what was the #6 defense in the nation last year IIRC. Calm down
smh aggy
aggy still sucks this year, they just suck in different ways. At least they give Ole Miss something to look forward to.
At least aggy can take his mind off the loss by basking in the glow of those 1919 and 1927 championships.
Sick burn bro
Dumbass lol
Congrats on those 1997 and 2010 Big 12 Championships, BTW.
.............sigh..............
Indeed. Between football, equestrian and women's soccer, that's three national championships in the Big 3 collegiate sports. A far more successful season than any "big" () 12 school has been able to manage.
Aggie
Equestrian
Women's soccer
Leather-helmet glory days in football
Whats the difference between cheerios and Aggies?
Cheerios can't make fun of t-shirt longhorn fans or the big 12 after being told a joke that's a couple of decades old.
Actually Cheerios belong in a bowl. That holds til the end of time for Aggie.
