Changed my pre-order to the Hardened Edition the other day. The care package is nice, but $100 for a toy I'll never use and a tool box to hold everything in? Yeah, off. $80 for the game and premium DLC is good enough for me.

I just dont see the justification to spend more than the game itself.
I mean, you could do alot more with all that extra money. Give it to charity or something. Dont waste it on something as useless as plastic tool box.
This franchise hasn't seen a purchase from me since the abomination that was MW2.
Totally agree and that's why I got the Hardened edition. It's only $20 above the standard issue disc which is worth it for better packaging (steelbook) and some exclusive DLC.
MW2 and MW3 are garbage COD games, the others (COD4, World at War and the first Black Ops) are all pretty good in their own ways. The Modern Warfare sequels suck because of the nuclear bomb/MOAB killstreaks, basically dictate the playstyle of every person in multiplayer. All they do is camp their asses off trying to get 25 kills in a row. Terrible games. Black Ops was very fun for me and I certainly wasted a lot of time playing that game.
Don't really see what was so bad about MW2, it was fun. Don't take gaming so seriously.
LOL Treyarch; I think I'll be sitting this release out.
IW sucks. I only buy the Treyarch releases. However, i've never bought a special release version of a game in my life. Just give me a box and a disc if it's not on steam
MW2 I thought was pretty good. MW3 a steaming pile of poo.
The only problem with MW2 was that OMA was a gamebreaker. But that was only because of the infinite noobtoobs thing. It was actually a pretty cool idea without it though. MW3 was made for es, i remember arguing with a guy online because he was saying "the explosions should be nerfed cause that's how it is in real life" then five minutes later he said "it's good quickscoping was brought back because that takes skill"
Black Ops got some run in my system, a buddy of mine convinced me to use his bootleg give it a go. Decent game, best COD since COD4, but still a tier below. Pirated MW3 and threw my copy in the garbage after a week.
Was MW2 the game with the stupid 1887 akimbo super shottys? thtat game has so many camp corners and I could never get a game working with a party. And the noob tubing and nukes were idiotic.
nothin like cod4 hardcore TD, them days before you get freaking EMP'd every 10 seconds
And you had teamkills, which I wasn't very into, but something about using flashbangs on my teammates at the start of the match tickled my fancy
You have a modded 360?
You're living on the edge. lol
World at War was a machine gun and tank fest. The tanks completely ruined the experience half the time, even if they were easy to takeout. They were still annoying.
that's another thing about mw3 making emps and stealth bombers support class was stupid re ed.
ooooo loved bops2 fckn hated mw3, dont really know why just bored me.Got blackops 2 on reserve just the 60 dollar version
COD4 is a nice game, definitely played it the most in the series after Black Ops. It's definitely the most "fair" FPS experience you can get from COD because it doesn't have custom killstreaks and everything is super balanced. If you beat someone it's probably because you're better than them. Trainwreck is right about OMA breaking MW2. That game's gun balance was almost perfect, but the perks should have been shuffled around with different ones in different tiers. The fact that you could have a perk allowing you to change from one class to another whilst resupplying your equipment and underbarrel grenade launcher and using a perk in another slot to make all of your explosives do more damage was MAJOR BULL . Pretty much enabled anyone to get into the best camping spot, Claymore two points of entry and continually replenish their anti-personnel defenses whilst never having to run out of noobtubes or ammo.
World at War was really fun and was nice to experience COD multiplayer in the WWII era. Black Ops despite being a Cold War era game, played a lot like MW2 which was a lot of what made it good, but it didn't have perk tiers that enabled you to play the game like it was a Hollywood blockbuster where you never run out of ammo. The main problems with Black Ops, at least on the console side, were all purely networking issues. Some people will tell you the most OP guns were unlocked too early which made the game bad, but I find that the overused guns were hardly OP and very easy to still beat people head to head. I'm sure on PC, Black Ops is ing dominant.
I played MW3 until I got the Platinum trophy and didn't even hit the level cap in Prestige 0 in multiplayer, what a piece of game. Every map is pretty much the same, the spawns are all terrible and it removed pretty much anything that Black Ops did well whilst destroying the killstreak system. Something to be said about letting a studio develop a blockbuster le when half of their creative team that made the first two games good sued the publisher and defected to EA.
Oh and got my hardened edition preorder for Black Ops 2 fully paid off now. Can't wait for November 13th. Dunno if I'm going to pay for COD Elite this year, definitely has no use to me outside of not having to pay for DLC on drop date.
