Would you answer differently had the Colts not completely fell apart without him last year and had a winning season?
If someone would have told me..."someday the Colts will have a better QB than Johnny Unitas"....no way I would have believed them.
The Vikes have never had a better QB than Fran Tarkenton
The Chiefs never better QB than Len Dawson
The Redskins neverr QB than Sonny Jurgenson
Stabler still the best Raider QB
Marino still the best Dolphin QB
Anyway..
Peyton Manning has surpased Johnny U.

Joe Montana is still the best, unless Brady gets #4
If Peyton would have retired two years ago he'd still be the best Colt QB. Which really is hard to say. We do have to keep in mind they Johnny U did have the best TE in John Mackey, the best WR in Ray Berry and the first great pass catching back in Lenny Moore (who should have played WR). Funny we'd be talking about Unitas since I just started reading his book. If ever asked who was the best QB out of Louisville it's Johnny U.
In my opinion
1.Joe Montana
2.Brett Favre
3.Peyton Manning
4.Tom Brady
5.John Elway
6.Dan Marino
7.Otto Graham
8.Johnny Unitas
9.Drew Brees
10.Aaron Rodgers
11.Warren Moon
12.Fran Tarkenton
13.Dan Fouts
14.Jim Kelly
15.Troy Aikman
16.Steve Young
17.Kurt Warner
18.Terry Bradshaw
19.Vinny Testerverde
20.Bart Starr
You're right about all those guys tbh. I can't speak for all of the old school NFL but the Colts are my team. I have my reasons for hating Dallas despite being a native Texan, and there was no Houston team when I pledged my allegiance. I've definitely watched a lot of stuff on the Baltimore days of the Colts franchise and they had a lot of greats, for sure. I'm just more biased toward the Peyton era because I lived it, ya know?
Jim Parker, Art Donovan and Gino Marchetti all in the HOF were other great back in the day Colts. When Johnny U was starring the NFL looked like this.
west
Niners
LA Rams
Colts
Bears
Lions
Vikings
Packers
east
Browns
Redskins
Cowboys
Eagles
Steelers (sucked!)
St. Louis Cardinals
Giants
With but 14 teams we saw a higher caliber of play.
Avante, can you link to where you made your other picks for week one? I only remember the lions pick you made.... In fact, I thought I remembered you saying that that game was the only bet you were making in week one..... I could be wrong though.
I only played the one game as far as real $$$$$ goes. My other picks were in that pick um thread. I had...
Broncos
Pats
Chargers
as winners.
Saints
Bills
Lions
as losers.
I can't find that thread, what was the le of it?
Ok, I found it.... Just making sure you weren't completely full of .....you're still at about 99% full of though. Oh, and since you only bet money on one game, you're 0-1, not 3-3.
Dude, long season, are you ing kidding meI was talking about my picks here, obviously.
Never seen so many without a clue in my life.
0 and 1
but he was only for points away from being 4-2
