Welker
Chargers cut his ass before he turned into the primadonna he is today
http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/...olving-offense
The bulk of information at this point is drawn from offseason workouts, spring camps, training camp and six games (four preseason, two regular season), and while Welker has set a high standard since joining the Patriots in 2007, he hasn't consistently been at that level since signing his franchise tender. He also had a pass clang off his facemask in the season opener, and had a third-and-9 sideline pass sail through his arms on Sunday
.
Meanwhile, Edelman probably had his best offseason and training camp, and remains an ascending player in his fourth season. Belichick confirmed this on sports radio WEEI on Monday, saying, "Julian has improved a little bit every year. I think he had a good training camp."In analyzing the 12 snaps that Edelman was on the field over Welker on Sunday, one area of note was Edelman's run-blocking. Stevan Ridley had runs of 20, 12 and 10 yards, and Edelman was involved on all three runs, blocking cornerback Patrick Peterson on the 20-yarder -- pushing him wide -- and cornerback William Gay on the other two.
Welker works hard on run-blocking as well, but perhaps this is an area the coaching staff feels just as comfortable, if not more, with Edelman.

that was poorly thrown by tom.
But I doubt you are calling for Brady's back up.
I am... it's Mallett time, tbh...![]()
Rofl Chargers kicked Brees and Turner out too
Even Eli and his daddeh saw how bad it was and whimper wahwahed until he got sent to the Giants.
When the Patriots need a big play or a spark, you still want Welker on the field.
Wes Welker is the best receiver the Pats have ever had.
You are kidding right?
No not really, the guy who was their best prior to Welker was Stanley Morgan out of Tennessee. Fryar had nothing on Morgan.
Turner's garbage nowadays and we have Rivers, tbh....
He wasn't a wide receiver, but Ben Coates should be up there imho....
Good point
As Parcells would say, she's up there too....
As much as I hate the Patriots, I actually liked the Bledsoe-era teams, they were badass tbh....
hey, whats up man! have you gone to our new Mavs forum yet, ever since the FWST one got ed up? go here.

most of the people from the old board are there, plus some new people.
good to hear from you man.
Ben Coates was a pretty swole TE in those days too.
My favorite Patriots receiver ever is Reche Caldwell.
Reche scares the out of me with those eyes![]()
Now that he's washed out of the league, I heard he's been moonlighting as Clemson's mascot....
