Kidd and it's not even close!
Kidd 2002-03 18.7 PPG 8.9 APG 7.3 RPG
Playoffs 20.1 PPG 7.7 RPG 8.2 APG
Rondo 2011-12 11.9 PPG 11.7 APG 4.7 RPG
Playoffs 17.3 PPG 11.9 apg 6.7 RPG
Both have comparable styles, Kidd led his team full of D-leaguers to the Finals while Rondo had 3 other HOFs on his team.
Kidd and it's not even close!
They're similar, but Kidd was just about the smartest basketball player to ever live. While Rondo has decent basketball IQ, he's nowhere near Kidd in those terms, but he's a far better athlete and more capable of creating things for himself. Overall I'd take Kidd tho.
^ too young to have watched the prime kidd i guess? the young kidd was also quite and athletic player imho though he didn't optimize it. kidd wasn't a reliable 3pt shooter either but still WAY better than the little , and he's never got 3 future HOF'ers to play alongside him
let alone the prime kidd, even the 35yr version of him was still quite a good player whom everyone wanted to play with. the mavs traded half of their roster for this guy who was already 35 at that time, and the traded turned out to be a huge success

7.3 boards is crazy for a point guard
It's not just about numbers. Those rebounds come at a price for Rondo, because he doesn't get back on defense and instead attacks the glass. Kidd's rebounds were almost always because he was just faster to a loose ball and he got a lot of put backs.
Of course when debating who's better it's not even going to be close. You have a top 3 PG all time against a youngster who's yet to lead a team with Brian Scalabrine and Kerry Kittles in the starting lineup to the NBA Finals
Just pointing out that they have comparable games.
Kidd in his prime was a good athlete but he wasn't at Rondo's freakish level.
I really dislike Kidd, but Rondo's not there yet. If Rondo could ever develop a jumper to bump his average up 3 or 4 points, he'd be there.
How many beatings has Rondo dished out to his wife?
Very true. I just looked up Kidd's 06-07 stats
13 points, 9.2 assists, 8.2 rebounds in just 36 minutes for 80 games
15 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists in 11 playoff games
His stats dropped off during his final years with Dallas, but he was still effective as a 3pt weapon and a legitimate playmaker. Does anyone actually see Devin Harris guarding LeBron, Kobe and Durant in the 4th quarter during the playoffs?
Kidd.
Just look at what he did.. those Nets teams he took to finals were not that good
