When you think about it, the world is just cruel and unfair. People would much rather watch (statistically proven) Kobe go 6-24 than to see Duncan shooting 15-foot bankers and roaming the paint.

Oh well, I don't make the rules.

Youre likely trolling brah, but which superstar was in a better position to win? Is it easier to win four rings in San Antonio or five rings in Los Angeles ?
It's hard to win a championship in any sport. If that weren't the case then the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins wouldn't be embarrassments to the NFL the last 15 or so years. In the NBA, the Knicks are the top market yet they've been a sad pile of forever.

Kobe could've been a lazy, one-way loser like Vince Carter--just spending half the game chucking 3's and playing no defense whatsoever. Instead, he dedicated himself and became the most feared scorer of his generation, and a top defender to boot. That has nothing to do with location.

    Football is alot different tbh.

Kobe deserves his props for all of that, Id atleast put him Top 3. Probably 2nd because Shaq was really only dominant for half of the decade. No way is his body of work better than Timmys though . It isnt as simple as 5>4 yet thats what most people base their opinion off of.

It is, but has there ever been an athlete given an easier path than Bryant? That's why Duncan's 4 are more impressive than Bryant's 5.

This is how dumb most people are: Up until '08, the consensus was that Bryant wasn't even in Duncan's league historically. Then Bryant get's handed a men against boys front line, wins 2 more and suddenly he's greater?

He's the most overrated defender in the history of the game. But I'm sure they'll hand him another 1st team All-Defense next season and continue brain washing the ignorant masses.

Nowitzki ahead of Garnett and Wade is just as ridiculous. Especially Garnett, because the same logic applies. Up until the past few years, the consensus was that Nowitzki wasn't in Garnett's league historically, then he wins 1 as the undisputed best player on his team and now all of a sudden he's greater?

Somebody who actually knows what the they're talking about disagreed with me and I have no comeback, so I'm going to cop out and come with some regurgitated, played out response, in a desperate attempt to become more popular on a message board. This and pretending to have no attention span will make me seem cool.

I'm going to continue to regurgitate played out, incorrect nonsense, in a desperate attempt to gain acceptance from a few losers on a message board
Pretending to be gone, then logging back in after I respond
Going along with what the media tells you
Either legitimately having or pretending to have no attention span
Seeking acceptance on a message board

This board has gone to because of people like you.

maybe I'll win this argument through sheer endurance
You lost all credibility during the WCF, so nobody can take anything you say seriously anymore. Your reputation precedes you down here. All I remember is a pretty nasty bukkake sesh led by none other than timvp, and you've been scrambling to get your credibility back ever since.

By picking the Spurs in five? The great timvp did the same thing. In fact, most people (not just Spurs fans) picked them. I always said the Thunder could win though, I was just confident they wouldn't. But incorrect predictions are part and parcel, no matter how much knowledge you have.

? I keep hearing about this, but I never see any evidence of it.

Amongst the grownups/knowledge posters (a rare combination on this board), I have credibility. I'm not sure why you and the other vermin that pollutes this board are so obsessed with it though.

Do you have any evidence to support this, other than melting down in the Gutless Worms (the emo goods) thread you authored last year, or the ty predictions you offer every year?

This must be what credibility looks like (posted when Spurs were up 2-0):

I could have told you this going in. I've long said that Brooks has no idea what he's doing and is in over his head. There's not much separating him from Del Nego, but he doesn't receive a tenth of the scrutiny Del Negro does. That's because he just so happened to inherit a team that was going to progress to the level they're now at on a similar timetable, whether he was coaching them or someone else was. It's the getting them to the next level that actual coaching is required for. He's incapable of this and that's why he needs to be fired. I think Presti realizes this too, which is why he's (curiously) yet to extend him. He probably wants to fire him, but knows he has no cliche reason he can sell to the media and his own team. If they get swept in this series, that could give him the impetus.

At this time of the year you can't worry about that. Especially with how rested this team is and how much more rested they can become by wrapping this up in five or less. As you alluded to, a team this good (even if they are overrated, as I've long maintained), you don't give any life to. If the opportunity is there to take this game and effectively end the series, you spare damn near no expense.

Do you have any evidence to support what you said? Looks to me like you're basing it off of the fact that more people sided with timvp. Of course they did. He's their god and on top of that, their favorite team was being ripped to shreds and a magical season was slipping away. What I said was never going to win a popularity contest, but that doesn't mean it was wrong.

Also, would you say this post is of the emo-variety?

For an organization that's won four championships in a nine season span, they've sure embarrassed themselves plenty of times. And they're in the midst of doing it again.

They've got a team of mostly playoff neophytes that tanks to play them and this is how they respond? Instead of taking it personally and sending a message immediately, they let their confidence, already sky high, go through the roof and confirm that, yes, this team can beat them. They also confirmed to the rest of the league, who disrespected, flat out ignored them or both the entire season that, yes, they are in fact a joke. Not that they were going to be motivated by that, but you'd think they'd want to stick it to all these ass holes. Apparently not.

Not a ing chance in the Lakers or Celtics allow that. Point to the Grizzlies girth in the paint or the fact that the Spurs of the past three seasons have not been in the same class as the Lakers or Celtics all you want. The point is this: They're the two other teams in the league with championship pedigree. They'd have taken pride in knocking an upstart team like this down a peg. They'd have came in, quieted the crowd and re-established control of the series.

What's worse than the fact that this team did none of those things is that they look like the terrified team. All this experience and yet they come out and it's as if they're intimidated by the atmosphere. Inexcusable.
