I think he drew the wrong conclusion.
In the first example, the trolley is out of control. I simply choose to make the situation better and whack one stranger instead of letting the trolley kill 5 strangers. True...mental cost benefit analysis.
In the second example (at least I) did a cost benefit analysis too. I push the fat boy off the bridge then it's MURDER with all the ramifications that go with it. A jury is not going to give a even if it saves the 5 people...Fat boy is squashed and I'm gonna be ed. Sorry you 5 dudes...you should have taken the bridge with me and fat boy.
