Well if you're going to have an undersized, out-of-shape bigman, might as well at least have one that can shoot, pass, and defend.
I disagree with alot of his individual analysis but think his base them is generally right. The whole article is a top notch classic though for just one line.
DeJuan we are tired of you being out of shape. We're replacing you with Boris Diaw. I'm not sure if its irony or just awesome.

seems like an eternity ago now..
This is true. Boris brings a lot of good basketball to the game.
Didn't Hollinger predict the Spurs to win the championship last year?
Not to mention having his national team leader and best friend, plus Pop, riding his as to BE in shape. I'm guessing he comes in to camp at his listed weigh in the 240s instead of his Charlotte weight in the 260s.
Diaw is a great addition and is likely to play even better this year. I was pretty amazed to see how fast he became acclimated last year.
I believe he had the Spurs 3rd in the West. Edit: Yup, 3rd, here's the link (Insider): http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/previ...cted-standings
Hollinger's predictions were the best of the 30 people tracked by deadspin:

If Pop emphasizes defense this year they can win it all. The offense is already pretty good. They also need to work on their in-between game and getting more post scoring.
Yeah, but at the beginning of the playoffs I bet he predicted the Spurs would win the championship. No suprise though, the numbers of the Spurs team of the last 20 regular season games just told him to do so ...
It wasn't just Hollinger. Tons of statheads picked the Spurs to go all the way. One of them (Wages of Wins?) gave the Spurs a ~93% chance to beat the Thunder, and that was before the series started!
