That doesn't explain Howard's 95.

How doesn't it? He is well rounded. Outside of anything having to do with range shooting and passing, what wouldn't he rate well in? Obviously, he's off the charts in anything having to do with physical tools. Then throw in his inside game, rebounding and shot blocking and it makes total sense that he'd be a top three rated player.

Yeah, I forgot ball handling. Anyway, the point remains. There's numerous categories he ranks well into the 90s in, there's numerous other categories that he ranks well in for a center (like perimeter/on ball defense) and there's only a few where he doesn't rank well in and the majority of them are not essential for a center.

Keep in mind, not every category is weighted the same (in relation to the overall rating). Certain categories count for more than others. So say he's a 90-something in defensive awareness. That has a lot more bearing on his overall rating than if he's a 40-something in ball handling.

well i'm pretty sure the game takes in to consideration that ball handling isn't as necessary for a center, neither is perimeter d. obviously, i've yet to play 2k13 but in 2k12, if you create a player for instance, you create a center and put his ballhandling rating at a 50, it doesn't affect his overall nearly as much as it would if you created a point guard. try creating a pg or sg and lower his his ball handling and perimeter d down and his overall should drop like a hammer compared to a big man

If there is a center with above average passing and/or handling skills, the game should account for that and it should be reflected in the rankings. Don't ya think?

Sadly, yeah. Then they overrate the out of his defensive skills and claim he's a super talent. . .even though in the 20 or so Lakers games I watched last year, I didn't see Kobe have a single good consistent defensive performance for any of those games despite always guarding the worst perimeter player on the floor at all times.

Kobe gets by on reputation on defense more than anything. People just don't go at him enough that much but if enough people did it would be more obvious he isn't that good.
