Dale Davis is by far the worst all-star ever and nobody will ever top it.
real talk: was shaq deserving of his 2008 All-Star nod? 17 and 8 is better than 12 and 7 though tbh
Dale Davis is by far the worst all-star ever and nobody will ever top it.
all-star subs are selected by the coaches and some of them are ty players including Dale Davis, Vin Baker, Mo Williams just to name a few. however, if you mean the tiest player voted into the all-star game i think you mean those who've started in all-star games, and you got a 7'6 who beat everyone to this
tbh yao would've been a top 5 center all-time if he could've stayed on the court
Yi dude ain't even playing in the NBA the coming season imho
if you mean top 5 international players to ever play C in the NBA then maybe yes, there's no way in he could steal a place even in the top 10 tbh
Yao averaged 20 and 10 when healthy tbh. His problem was staying on the court - he makes Manu look like AC Green.
and he also made dampier look like shaq, and boozer like the prime karl malone. and you see a lot other players in NBA history who had 20+10 stats but were indeed chemistry cancers like the portland version of Z-bo
Jayson Williams, Googs
true true
Brad Miller? David Lee?
Jeremy Lin.... we all know it's going to happen, tbh....
and rightfully so tbh.
Not really. Getting worked up over an all-star selection is stupid.
playing the who gives a card.
The fact of the matter is the all star game is where the best of the best should play. Even without my homer glasses, Jeremy Lin isn't as good as Tony Parker. He's probably not even top 5 in pg.
Come on man, a lot of these players were actually deserving.
Dale Davis was a fantastic glue guy, ultimate role player type the year he made it. Was he a superstar? No, but here is a guy who pulls down double digit rebounds and played fantastic defense, just a poor man's, non-head case version of a Rodman who made it.
Vin Baker was dynamite for a few years before he got fat/depressed.
Yao Ming was deserving of his All-star games (most of them) as he was a 20/10/2 guy in a center starved era. He was the leagues best center for a few years.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas was in because the league didn't have too many centers. Same with Brad Miller (and Miller, at one point was one of the best passing bigs in the league).
Andrei Kirilenko was the do-it-all guy. Sort of like Shawn Marion.
Jayson Williams was a rebounding machine.
Googs was a poor man's Larry Bird.
David Lee was a stat stuffer.
The question is, you mention these guys were the worst player to suit up, were they worse than BJ Armstrong or Mo Williams the years they were selected?
...but it's not. It's a popularity contest, not a place where the "best of the best" are represented. People get in because they are liked better, a certain race, etc.
So yes, I don't give a ...and neither should you.
NBA is a ing business and the businessmen don't give a whether he's even a top5 or not as long as he sell more tickets/jerseys. all star game is an exhibition where guys who have the biggest fan bases should play. e.g. the 7'6 who was voted to start in every all-star game except only one time when he sat out the entire season imho
well said, its all about cash, if they think more people would watch because lin is playing thats all that matters, its a meaningless game, strictly for marketing and money purposes only
just from this pic i choose this
Mo was a decent #2 on a contender. David Lee is a #4 on a playoff team.
