No and no
Does mike brown deserve any credit? is he a candidate for coach of the year??
discuss.
No and no
His prospective starting line up consists of a TOSB chucker, a T-er O-er SB at point guard, a SF who has lost a step and possibly whatever's left of his mind, a soft choker PF and a center coming off back surgery. Plus, zero bench. If Mike Brown can get a #1 seed out of that then he deserves to have the COY renamed after him.

I don't get this "zero bench" nonsense. Zero is what we've had since 2004. Well, with the exception of LO's career as a 6th man. Jamison, Meeks, and Hill are all solid contributors.
If he can maximize the talent by somehow getting Kobe to not be a chucker for the first time in his career, then hed have my vote tbh.
you have failed to read the le.. its If the lakers get the #1 seed...but since you brought it up....
tim duncan- ultimate TOSB
Manu- get this a bosley appointment.. thats beyond TOSB
Stephen Jackson... did u guys bring him back because hes reached TOSB status?
parker- too busy in his team mates wives to get anything done.. reached TOSB stage 1
There's just no chance... everybody knows the Spurs are going to 3-peat the regular season 'ship![]()
that might be the only thing your repeating
Wouldn't mind a Lakeshow 2nd round 3-peat either, tbh...
Mike Brown's a regular season coach. 66 wins with a "big three" of LeBron, Mo Williams and Ben Wallace.
Of course, he's gone to the Finals exactly once and has zero wins in the Finals. Compare to phili 's 6 Finals wins.
I hope he does well in the regular season. If he does well for this season, the Lakers might give him an extension and that's an advantage for everyone else tbh.
tbh Mike has to watch his back... Dwight is a known coach-killer...
Like always, the importance of NBA head coaching is vastly overrated. Erik Spoelestra has a ring
Spoelstra is a decent coach.
With AJ instead of Carlisle, no way the '11 Mavs are sniffing the Finals
Then you have the elite company in PJ, Popovich, Brown and Riley.
Phili 's good because Riley's his mentor, tbh...
Mike Brown
former Spurs assistant
This is Mike's last season. Anyone can coach a stacked team (Except Mike D). Mike won't get respect that Stan couldn't get from Howard. Howard will be Bynum x 9,847 and I don't even know what that is.
Mike Brown: "It will be up to him to determine whether he (Steve Nash) wants to play pick and roll or if he wants to transition us into some Princeton looks or some looks that we had last year by a simple pass, by a simple cut, by a simple hand signal. So he has the keys to drive the engine."
Translation: Steve's the coach.
Phili has a stacked team. Otherwise he's Lawrence Frank V 1.1.
Of course, when the Lakers have pissed off 23 seconds off the clock, who still takes the contested jumper? Dwight?
it's never a doable task for mike brown to wield a stacked team w/o a regent (like pat riley) behind him imho
Deserves some credit, but not much.
Absolutely not COTY candidate. You can only up with a team like that. You can't "exceed expectations" with that team unless they win way over 70 games or some . Even then it's still hard to give him credit for it. Best center in NBA. Best or 2nd best SG in NBA. Top 7 PG in NBA. Top 3-5 PF in NBA. Top 3 defensive SF in NBA. Arguably best guy coming off bench in NBA.
How can you possibly get "coaching credit" for that? The COTY should go to the Laker's owner's bank account before it should Mike Brown, for paying more than double the salary cap for his team this season.
LOL
