I think the better question is who ISN'T high on KL.
a little tidbit i just came across:
http://espn.go.com/nba/preview2012/s...e-high-2012-131. Which player will take the biggest step forward this season?
Marc Stein, ESPN.com: To make the Staples Center rivalry even ier, I hope it's Blake Griffin or DeAndre Jordan. An extended run of good health for Andrew Bogut and Steph Curry would also be most welcome. But I think we actually already have our answer: Kawhi Leonard. Surely you heard how Gregg Popovich, on media day, announced to the world that he wants Leonard to be a Spur for life. That's Tim Duncan-level respect for the Spurs' fourth-best player and a kid with one year in the league. That's big.
I think the better question is who ISN'T high on KL.
didnt this clown say a few days ago he didnt see leonard as a star but a solid player
like 15/8 guy in his prime
I think the biggest ? on Kawhi is what is his upside?
The ONLY thing I worry about with him, is can he be as incredibly consistent as he was his rookie season?
That's my floor for him.
That's the thing - everyone pegged him to be a defensive player, but he turned out to be amazing on offense and needing more work on defense.
Amazing seems a little strong, perhaps surprising. He can't be counted on for putting up 15+ points a night, maybe 12.
ehh, I thought he was solid on D last year.
lol is that Method Man?
Honestly, if he in fact retires as a spur, I anticipate his jersey being retired. He really does have that potential. (knock on wood)
I hope he's better than AJ tbh.
The numbers don't really agree (RAPM and opponent PER for one), but I think part of it was playing a lot with Jefferson early on.
He only has to outdo AJ.
snoop!! why the cards beanie, i dont know
Barring serious injury, I think he'll end up a 1.5/18/7.5/2.5/1.8/0.9 at 47-50% shooting kinda guy, like AK-47 in his prime but with more scoring.
The sky is the limit for Kawhi.![]()
With the way he is now, he seems like a Shawn Marion with an even higher ceiling. The one thing I'd like to see from him, as with all Spurs is the heart. A heart like Manu's whilst still being humble. Kawhi seems like that kind of guy with him being quiet and humble and all. Hope he stays a Spur for life, and I hope we get that Shabaz guy as well![]()
Here's to hoping he doesn't have a sop re slump.
u have to remove the 3 tosb on the team for him tobe first choice on offense and start padding his stats
Shawn Marion... but with a nice jumper. I think he could add elements of a Paul Pierce.
I see him as becoming what Iguodala could have been if he'd ever developed a buttery jumper.
Athletic? Yes. Transition? Yes. All-around? Yes.
I think the only guy who didn't really work out for the Spurs from the past few drafts was James Anderson, and that was more because of his injury.
Kawhi doesn't seem to be a fan of wheelchairs, ing and being a pussy tbh.
To be honest, Marion really impressed me during Mavs' championship run. After years of being shut down by Bowen (and being considered soft), he definitely stepped up when it counted.
I was referring to Paul Pierce if you didn't catch the reference.
