Four years too late, IMO...
He has 2 tries to tie Jordan.
Hate him or like him (i'm indifferent), you gotta admit he's a once in a lifetime type player. One of those guys who will say one thing and show you that he will stick to his word.

Like when he told Shaq he would never snitch & just like how he promised to be faithful in his wedding vows?
The goods!
My thoughts are that if he is still healthy, he'll still play at a reduced price tag. If he does not, then that's $30M off the books that will be used wisely to ensure that the Lakers remain as a contender. Only two players on the books (presumably) will be D12 and Nash (expiring KT). Lakers will reload like they always do.
Rudy Gay, Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki on the market.
^
Where's the cap room to even sign up a big FA? You do understand the Lakers payroll right? Considering Dwight signs a 4 yr, 20 - 22 mil/yr extension next summer, the Lakers will total 105 - 110 mil. Damn that's more than 50 mil over the cap. That Time Warner money will sure come in handy (20 yr $4 bill).200 mil a yr and add in the ticket sales, the Lakers are stacked for years to come.
What about D12 $(20M) + Nash ($9M - expiring KT) is so difficult to understand? Kobe and Pau alone account for $50M. If Pau shrivels up (again) in the playoffs and we don't rang (again), he gone. If Kobe retires, his $30M comes off the books too. Boiled down - no Laker cap issues in 2014. Like I said, they'll just reload and (presumably) build around D12 and Nash.
Dwight is also plausibly the only player left under contract after 2014-15... enough room to go after another perimeter chucker like Gay, tbh...
That gif symbolizes the Lakers. Money, tbh. Money, Money, Money. Money make the world go round.
Damn the Lakers are gonna be stacked inj 2014
you can only sign FA's within the cap limit which means you'll only have barely enough room to sign one superstar with DH ($20m) remaining on the book, and two superstars + craps won't win you championships these days tbh
What about Kareem's scoring record. Thought that might be insight.
He could finish his career in Europe. He's part-owner of a club in lol Italy so he could play there, or in FCB Basquet.
Just like Jim?
The Spurs are unlikely to get the kind of star power the Lakers can get... so Tim's farewell tour is understandable to an extent.
In this day an age, $30m/year for a player giving you T-Mac level of production hurts your team more than helps, tbh...
If he follows through with it, then thank ing god. But I seriously doubt this chucker retires probably be chasing some kind of scoring records imo.Source: Bryant likely to retire in 2014
Rebuilding around Rudy "Choker" Gay
I though Artest doesn't come of the books until 2015? Anyhow the Lakers will extend Kobe by giving him a 3 yr $12 - 15 mil extension. They'll still have cap for a big FA.
He's coming off the books after next season, together with Kobe and Pau.
Would be dumb for Kobe to retire if Dwight decides to stick around (which he will). Bean could easily ride his coattails to another couple rings, just like he did Shaq and Pau.
I'm starting to wonder if Spur fans have some kind of mental inability, can you guys come up with something new? Pleasethe reader needs to be entertained.
