Quotes from 2014 S Edward Paris after his trip to Austin for the West Virginia game (24/7):

“My thought was it was an exciting game and great atmosphere,”
Paris said Sunday afternoon. “It was exciting for both halves, the atmosphere was intense, it was a nice night for football with a cool breeze, and it was exciting.”

“I look at the positions, more than the game itself. How are they playing their scheme,"
he said. "I watched both secondaries, since both have offered me. I watched the corners and nickels, because I think I can cover and play the nickel.”

“They (coaches) just tried to get me on board with the program. I told them I like their scheme,"
he said. "I like man, in your face coverage and I like how Texas plays.”

“If I get tickets, I will go to the Texas-Oklahoma game. I’ll sit on the Oklahoma side as a guest of the Sooners because they are the home team,"
he said. "I went to the Texas-Oklahoma State game two weeks ago, too. I’m going to the Alabama-LSU game November 3rd after that.”

“LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma State and Alabama are recruiting me really hard. Alabama sends a lot of mail, like a lot of mail,"
he said. "I think Oregon will also offer me soon. It seems like some schools are also afraid to offer me. It’s going to be hard to look at narrowing things.”

Quotes from the coach of JUCO OL Desmond Harrison who Texas offered last Friday (24/7):

    “He’s very excited,”
said Carter. “Desmond told me it’s a dream come true for him actually. He’s originally from Texas, has family in Texas and has always kept tabs on Texas, so it’s a really big deal for him. He’s been ecstatic about it actually.”

“We actually have quite a few connections to the Texas staff,”
explained Carter. “My defensive coordinator and Coach (Bo) Davis were frat brothers. My offensive line coach played for Coach (Bryan) Harsin at Boise State. So those two guys let them know about Desmond originally. Coach (Bruce) Chambers then stopped by when he was out this way and saw him. He really liked what he saw so he told Coach Davis and Davis stayed in contact. Then Coach (Stacey) Searels got to see him and liked what he saw. Soon after, they offered him over the phone.”

“We genuinely both feel comfortable with them (Texas),”
said Carter. “I told Desmond he needs to find a place that fits him both on and off the field. He needed to find a place that he has a great relationship with the coaching staff and that’s what he feels with Texas. We both believe that Coach Davis would watch over him and that the whole Texas staff would guide him to do what’s best for him. We really just all feel good about Texas. Plus, you have Coach Mack Brown, who’s a coaching legend. We love Coach Brown, too. That whole staff is just great.”

“His mom lives in North Carolina,” he explained. “North Carolina State has offered him. If he went there, he would be very close to her, which is a big deal obviously. That’s one reason he took an official there, is to see the program and see her. Otherwise, he would have been in Texas for West Virginia. Besides them, he’s always said to me that USC is another program he’d like to hear from. They haven’t offered yet, but are showing serious interest. I think he really loves Texas though and genuinely likes USC. Like I said, Texas was a dream come true for him.”

“Right now he holds nearly 30 offers,”
said Carter. “Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Arkansas, California, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Boise State, North Carolina State, Rutgers, Kansas, Iowa State and plenty more have all offered.”

“He has quite a few visits planned,”
Carter told Hookem.com. “Besides North Carolina State, he’ll visit Iowa State on November 23rd, Arizona State on November 30th and Texas on December 7th. There’s a chance he could visit Oklahoma, USC, Arkansas, Texas Tech or Oklahoma State as well sometime, but that hasn’t been set up yet.”

OL Caleb Benenoch's thoughts on his unofficial visit to Texas (24/7):

“The game was out of control,”
exclaimed Benenoch. “It was awesome. It was absolutely amazing. I don’t know if DKR is always like that, but it’s the best I’ve ever seen.”

“I’d say that they (Texas) are my leader,” Benenoch told Hookem.com. “It’s tough to separate the schools, but that game atmosphere was awesome. My top four now is Texas, Baylor, OU and then UCLA in that order. Baylor and OU are kind of tied though.”

“I think the offense did very well for the most part,”
Benenoch said. “David Ash played extremely well too. One thing I thought was that they could have run blocked better down the stretch, especially in the red zone. That cost them some points. But overall they did well.”

“I might go back to some schools,” he said when asked about another Texas visit. “I don’t know yet though. Nothing is set.”

“I’m just waiting to visit UCLA,”
Benenoch explained. “I’ll make my decision after that. I don’t want to wait until signing day.”

Update on OL/DL Andrew Billings after his unofficial visit for the West Virginia game (24/7):

“The visit went great,” Billings said. “It was very loud. Some of the fans told me it was the loudest they have heard it in years. I thought the game was a very good one too. It was a hard game for both teams and both teams played hard.”

“The atmosphere was ‘Go Texas’ 100-percent all the time,” Billings told Hookem.com. “The fans pretty much screamed the whole time. The crowd was standing the whole game too. I think the only other game I’ve seen come close to that was Baylor versus Oklahoma last season and that was a good game.”

    “My decision will come soon,”
he said. “Very soon actually. I’m really close to making it. I’ll decide between Texas, Baylor and TCU. It will probably be by the end of the month at the latest. It could be possibly even sooner than that.”

An unexpected visitor at Saturday night's game was K Matt McCrane of Brownwood. Quotes from him (24/7):

“I was at the game on Saturday,”
McCrane explained, “and I had the chance to talk to Coach (Major) Applewhite. I told him about some other opportunities I had and he told me to continue to stay in touch. He’s going to help with me with my application.”

“First I have to retake and score higher on my SAT,”
he said. “After that I have to apply for the fall semester. The plan is for me to then walk-on, as of now, and earn the scholarship within the next four years.”

“Nothing compares to putting your Horns up in the air and singing the Eyes of Texas,”
McCrane told Hookem.com. “It is home. The atmosphere of game day in Austin is the best in college football.”

2014 S Jamal Adams comments on Saturday night in Austin (24/7):

“The whole thing was great, especially for it to be my first game in Austin to watch Texas,” A
dams told Hookem.com. “It was an action packed, couldn’t stop each other, offensive shootout type of game. It was real fun to watch and it was a great game. They might have lost, but it was still fun.”

“The stadium was loud last night,” he said. “Very, very loud actually. That atmosphere was amazing. I also spoke to some people who have been to other games and they told me that is the loudest it’s ever been, so I definitely went on a good night. It was just really loud and the crowd was into it all night.”

“I’ve been to two other college games,” explained Adams. “I’ve seen Alabama and Michigan play in Arlington and I saw Kansas State and Oklahoma. The Texas game last night was, without a doubt, the most fun I’ve ever had at a game. It was the best game and best atmosphere I’ve seen. I really had a good time.”

“I thought they played really good during certain parts of the game,” said Adams. “I’m certain they’ll continue to improve though. They had some big time sacks and got a lot of pressure on Geno Smith. There were times when they needed a big stop, but just couldn’t get it.”

“I thought the offense played great,”
he said. “They put up a ton of points and were running and passing very easily. They too had a couple of mistakes, a couple of big ones actually, like the bad snap to Ash and the missed field goal, but they definitely held their own. If it wouldn’t have been for those two things, they would have won. Just some mental errors got them down and you can’t do that against a great team like West Virginia.”

I have spoken to his dad before and they were all about Texas. Contact between them has been going on for some time now (couple years). I believe he is friends with little Vaccaro as well. The kid has a STRONG leg.

Found it odd that he's seeking another opinion considering it's fairly easy to diagnose. I guess they're looking at the severity of the tear.

Apparently, according to Rivals, OG Tyrone Crowder out of Richmond County High School NC., has an offer from Texas.

He sure do look like a guy I would rather have than play against.

Apparently Texas inquired a while back and he shot them down because they were "too far" from home. He's come around a little bit and says he wants to take an official visit but hard to believe anything will materialize (especially if Billings commits by the end of the month).

Quotes from 2014 CB Darrion Johnson of Brenham after the West Virginia game (OrangeBloods):

"I liked the game, how the crowd was,"
Johnson said. "I liked looking at (Quandre) Diggs, how he works in his back pedal. The crowd was were very loud. I didn't know they could get that loud."

"I talked to Coach Giles after the game. He was kind of upset because they loss, but said it was good to see me and he wished they could have won for me since I was there to watch,"
Johnson said. "He said to keep working hard and to come up for more games."

"I would prefer defense. I like to cover people and tackle,"
he said. "I can be a running back or I can play wide receiver too though."

"I really like Oklahoma. I like how their defense plays. I like the Texas' defense too though. They send their DBs to the league," Johnson said.
