    Is 3g and 4g really that vastly different. I know these companies use words and tricks to make it seem like the new 4G is going to be vastly superior.

    all that extra speed just means you hit your data cap faster

    if you don't have a data cap, like me, then yes it is. Having gone from 4g wimax, to ty 3g, to 4g lte it's way better.

    My original data plan from more than 5 years ago is unlimited, and not stuck on 3G. I still only pay $20/month for the 4G data.

    Yes unless you travel a lot and the airports don't have 4G service for your carrier (which many don't) so you end up using 3G anyhow.

    Many have SB which offers free Wifi. Hotels normally have no issues. Hopefully I don't spend enough time in the airport to warrant watching Netflix.
