R still carries a stigma and hurts box office, not gonna happen.
Just like Taken, Luc Besson (the Professional, 5th Element, etc) said there will be unrated version aka "French version". Such as in the first Taken when Neeson jams those metal poles into the legs of the guy; that was cut from the US release among other things.
R still carries a stigma and hurts box office, not gonna happen.
Yea, I hate that though. If Luc Besson actually directed it, Leon: The Professional style (rated R) the movie would really be the , honestly. I know Hollywood makes these decisions for families and more money, but f that. Making a badass action film of a guy that fights and kills so badass is affected in every scene because they have to write it to keep it PG13. Now I'm not saying all action movies have to be rated R, I just feel Taken is one of those that needs to be for my personal taste, imo.
Not sure if the next Die Hard is rated R, I doubt it, but the last one was ok as PG13. I just hate that though. Loved Die Hard with a Vengeance.
There should be something between PG-13 and R. I've seen some Rs which have been tame and some ed. It's pretty wide. Here we have a middle. M is like PG-13 then MA is similar to a lot of Rs and then R is the extreme stuff - it works I guess
What are the scenes that they will include in the extended cut, and when are they releasing it?
The interview didn't say (it was the director not Besson, but still) what will be included just that there will be a extended cut; usually with the Besson produced films lately, the movie comes with both in the same case on release.
Here is the interview:

Finally watched Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol: 8.5/10
For me it is real close to MI: 3 (my personal favorite), still wish JJ Abrams could have come back to direct this (yes he did produce).
I'm glad the Dubai scene played out the way it did when Cruise had to swing/leap into the window, from the trailer it looked like he was going to "easily" make it even coming at a bad angle.
Definitely a movie I'll watch again.
Just saw "End of Watch". I thought it was pretty damn entertaining. Some good action scenes mixed with some humor. 8/10
Just saw End of Watch... Easily one of the best cop movies I ever seen! great acting, great action and awesome dialogue! 9/10.
Battleship - 2.0/5.0 Rhianna didn't even show some abs.
Prometheus - 6.8/10 Great cinematography and art direction, crappy script.
Isn't that a good thing? Abs on girls is masculine
Seven Samurai and Yojimbo were both great.
Such an overrated movie.
Agreed about Seven Samurai, great film. Haven't seen Yojimbo yet. I rented Come and See.
You saw 21 Jump Street in a theater...how and why did this happen, DD?
High and Low, Ikiru, Throne of Blood, Stray Dog, and Ran are too
I saw Looper a very good movie. 9 out of 10.
The Ward: 2/5
Just saw Ip Man
Very impressed. Damn 9/10
Ip Man 2 was also bad ass, but love Part 1. Looking forward to the 3rd one which will follow Ip Man's training of Bruce Lee![]()
Leaving Las Vegas - 1995
The peak of Nicholas Cage's acting career. A man decides to drink himself to death in Las Vegas. An unsettling tale, artfully done.
8/10
Yeah I recently watched it too. Good film. Cage was very good. An engrossing film
Cabin in the Woods 7/10
